MPV Sales for June 2025 (units)

Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,724 units sold

Once again, the Mitsubishi Xpander dominated the MPV segment in June 2025, with an impressive sales figure of 1,724 units, reflecting a 56.7% growth rate. Not only did it top the MPV segment, but it was also the best-selling gasoline and diesel car in Vietnam for the month and the first half of the year. Its cumulative sales for the first half of 2025 stood at 8,187 units.

Mitsubishi Xpander

The Xpander’s success can be attributed to its appealing combination of factors, including a distinctive design, spacious 7-seat interior, adequate convenience and safety features, a well-established brand, and attractive pricing starting at VND 560-698 million. As a result, it consistently performs well in the Vietnamese market.

Additionally, the Xpander boasts a durable and fuel-efficient engine. Under the hood is a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a front-wheel drive system and a choice of a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

Toyota Innova Cross: 834 units sold

The Toyota Innova Cross climbed to second place in the MPV segment for June 2025, with 834 units sold, representing a remarkable 64.4% growth rate. This brings its cumulative sales for the first half of the year to 3,445 units, securing its position as the second best-selling MPV.

Toyota Innova Cross

In Vietnam, the Innova Cross is offered in two versions, with prices ranging from VND 825 million to VND 1.013 billion. For this price, customers get a mid-size MPV with a rugged SUV-like design, spacious interior, and comprehensive standard equipment.

The key difference between the two versions of the Innova Cross lies in their powertrains. The gasoline engine version features a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, paired with a Direct Shift CVT transmission. On the other hand, the hybrid version combines a 150-horsepower gasoline engine with a 111-horsepower electric motor and a CVT transmission.

Toyota Veloz Cross: 766 units sold

The strong performance of the Innova Cross pushed the Toyota Veloz Cross to third place in the MPV segment. It recorded 766 unit sales in June 2025, representing a 24.5% growth rate, while its cumulative sales for the first half reached 3,149 units.

Toyota Veloz Cross

The Toyota Veloz Cross has found success in the Vietnamese market thanks to its attractive MPV-SUV crossover design, ample convenience and safety features, and competitive pricing starting at VND 638-660 million. Unlike the top-selling Mitsubishi Xpander, the Veloz Cross offers more advanced ADAS safety features.

Under the hood, the Veloz Cross is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.

Kia Carnival: 436 units sold

Ranking fourth in the MPV segment, the Kia Carnival sold 436 units in June 2025, equivalent to a 2.5% growth rate. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year reached 2,571 units.

Kia Carnival

The Carnival’s sales performance is impressive, considering its higher price range of VND 1.299-1.849 billion. However, it makes up for this with its eye-catching design, spacious interior thanks to its large size, convenient sliding doors, and abundant features. Additionally, it is one of the few MPVs in the segment to offer a hybrid powertrain option.

The Kia Carnival is available with two powertrain choices: a 2.2L Smartstream 4-cylinder DOHC diesel engine that produces 199 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive; or a hybrid system that combines a 1.6L SmartStream 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, an electric motor, a lithium-ion polymer battery, and a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a total output of 242 horsepower while achieving an impressive fuel economy of 4.95 liters per 100 km.

Kia Carens: 364 units sold

Following the Carnival is another Kia model, the Carens, which sold 364 units in June 2025, reflecting a 32.3% growth rate. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year stood at 1,794 units.

Kia Carens

Compared to its launch two years ago, the Kia Carens now offers fewer versions, engine options, and a lower price range of VND 636-764 million. Customers can choose between two engine options: a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable IVT transmission; or a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 138 horsepower and 242 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Hyundai Stargazer: 308 units sold

The Hyundai Stargazer is one of the few MPVs that experienced a decline in sales, with 308 units sold in June 2025, representing a 5.8% decrease. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year reached 1,742 units.

Hyundai Stargazer

The Hyundai Stargazer is one of the most affordable MPVs in the Vietnamese market, with a price range of VND 489-599 million. However, its exterior design may not appeal to all customers.

The Stargazer is powered by a Smartstream G 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an intelligent iVT continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.

Honda BR-V: 288 units sold

Similar to most of its competitors in the segment, the Honda BR-V also experienced positive growth in June 2025, with 288 unit sales, reflecting an 11.1% increase. Its cumulative sales for the first half of 2025 reached 1,994 units.

Honda BR-V

Like other Honda models in Vietnam, the BR-V doesn’t have a pricing advantage, with a range of VND 629-705 million. However, it makes up for this with its attractive MPV-SUV crossover design, standard ADAS safety features, and highly-rated driving experience.

The BR-V is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine that delivers 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.

Suzuki XL7: 223 units sold

Suzuki sold 223 units of the XL7 in June 2025, reflecting a 10.9% growth rate. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year reached 1,193 units.

Suzuki XL7

The Suzuki XL7 has been consistently offered with attractive promotions, with discounts of up to tens of millions of dong. Additionally, it offers a competitive price range of VND 599.9-607.9 million and a mild hybrid powertrain that provides a smooth and fuel-efficient driving experience.

The XL7 is equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. It is combined with an integrated starter generator (ISG), a lithium-ion battery, and a 4-speed automatic transmission, resulting in an impressive fuel economy of 5.9 liters per 100 km.

Hyundai Custin: 114 units sold

Similar to the Stargazer, the Hyundai Custin experienced a decline in sales, with 114 units sold in June 2025, representing a 21.3% decrease. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year stood at 725 units, falling behind its direct competitor, the Toyota Innova Cross.
