In a recent interview with Tri Thức – Znews, several sales consultants confirmed that customers are currently unable to register new vehicles through the Ministry of Public Security’s online public services portal.
“Due to changes in the national database, new car registrations are temporarily halted to facilitate the update of address details on vehicle registration certificates,” explained a sales consultant.
Notices displayed at various traffic police units indicate that the suspension will last until June 30 and is attributed to data migration and administrative unit reorganization affecting the vehicle registration process.

While the Ministry of Public Security’s online public services portal remains accessible, the options for initial vehicle registration, certificate and license plate reissuance are limited to guidelines and related information. The “Submit Application” button is notably absent.
Earlier, on June 25, the Tax Department also announced a temporary suspension of several electronic tax systems for upgrades and data migration from June 27, 6:00 PM, to July 1, 8:00 AM. This includes the Tax Department’s website, eTax application, iCanhan (eTax for individuals), and eTax Mobile application.
Consequently, Vietnamese citizens are currently unable to complete vehicle tax or license plate registration procedures until the end of June.
