The Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2025 has been canceled due to ongoing challenges in the automotive market and a lack of notable new vehicle launches.

In a recent announcement, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) and the Vietnam Automobile Importers Association (VIVA) confirmed the event’s cancellation. According to the organizers, this decision was made after carefully assessing the economic climate and the needs of the industry members.

Despite this year’s cancellation, the organizers assured that the Vietnam Motor Show will make a comeback in 2026 with an expanded scale and a completely revamped format. The event will feature advanced interactive technologies, offering a diverse range of experiences. It will not only showcase new automobiles and motorcycles but also present smart mobility solutions, green technologies, charging infrastructure, financial services, and auxiliary industries.

The Vietnam Motor Show has been a biennial event typically held in October, maintaining its position as the largest industry event for over two decades. However, it was postponed in 2023 due to economic reasons and the unreadiness of car manufacturers to introduce new models.

After a one-year hiatus, the Vietnam Motor Show returned in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City but saw the absence of prominent brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Volvo, Volkswagen, and domestic manufacturers like VinFast, Hyundai, KIA, and Mazda. The event primarily featured popular automobile brands, especially those from China.

Given the challenging business landscape, many car manufacturers opt to cut exhibition costs and instead focus on exclusive promotional programs, advertising campaigns, and direct customer experience initiatives to enhance their efficiency in reaching target audiences.
