On August 20, exactly one month after its global debut in Indonesia, the new Mitsubishi Destinator SUV made its appearance on the streets of Vietnam during a test drive.

The first images revealed that the Vietnam test model bears no significant differences in exterior design compared to its Indonesian counterpart. Destinator boasts a robust and dynamic appearance, crafted with Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield design language, exuding sophistication and modernity.

In Indonesia, the Mitsubishi Destinator was unveiled with impressive specifications and features. With dimensions of 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, it offers a class-leading ground clearance of 244 mm (excluding the underguard). The spacious interior accommodates seven passengers across three rows of seats, providing flexibility to adapt to various cargo and passenger configurations.

The vehicle’s cabin features a prominent 12.3-inch central display, an 8-inch digital driver’s screen with an intuitive interface, and a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system for an immersive entertainment experience.

Under the hood, the Destinator is powered by a new-generation 1.5L turbocharged engine, delivering 161 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. Coupled with a CVT transmission, this powertrain promises responsive acceleration. Additionally, the SUV offers five drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud, and the unique Tarmac mode, which optimizes handling on winding paved roads.

The vehicle also integrates advanced safety features with the ADAS package and Active Yaw Control (AYC), enhancing handling and safety across various terrain conditions.

The Mitsubishi Destinator is expected to launch in Vietnam towards the end of this year, offering competitive pricing within the C-SUV segment. Following its initial success in Indonesia, the SUV is anticipated to replicate the positive impact of the Xpander and Xforce models in the Vietnamese market.
