Bugatti Unveils the One-of-a-Kind Brouillard: A Tribute to the Art of Coachbuilding
The French automotive marque Bugatti has recently unveiled its latest creation, the Brouillard. This one-of-a-kind hypercar is the first project under the Programme Solitaire, paying homage to the brand’s heritage of coachbuilding from the 20th century.
The Brouillard, which translates to “fog” in French, was designed exclusively for Dutch entrepreneur Michel Perridon, a collector of classic and modern Bugatti vehicles. Its name is a subtle tribute to the founder, Ettore Bugatti’s beloved horse.
In terms of design, the Brouillard can be considered a coupe variant of the W16 Mistral, which debuted in Monterey in 2022. While the Mistral features a soft top, the Brouillard boasts a fixed roof with a panoramic sunroof.
The exterior is finished in a sleek matte green, with darker accents on the lower body, giving it a muscular stance. A distinctive feature is the fixed “ducktail” spoiler, reminiscent of the unique Chiron Profilée.
The interior of the Brouillard is a blend of bespoke craftsmanship and modern luxury. It features a combination of tartan fabric from Paris and exclusive green carbon fiber, with custom-made seats tailored to the owner’s measurements. The backrest is embroidered with a intricate design of the horse, Brouillard.
This iconic horse motif is repeated on various details, such as the door sills, crystal gear knob, and rear seat badge. The “Brouillard 1/1” inscription on the door sills emphasizes the uniqueness of this masterpiece.
Under the hood, the Brouillard is powered by Bugatti’s iconic W16 engine, displacing 8.0 liters and producing a staggering 1,600 horsepower. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, a configuration shared with Bugatti’s renowned hypercars.
Prior to the Brouillard, Bugatti has left its mark with limited-edition models such as the Divo (40 units), Centodieci (10 units), and the one-off La Voiture Noire, valued at over $19 million. With the Programme Solitaire, Bugatti plans to produce a maximum of two cars per year, continuing the legacy of the legendary W16 engine in future projects.
Bugatti has not disclosed the price of the Brouillard, but it stands as a testament to the brand’s philosophy of limitless personalization, catering to the most discerning tastes and desires of its clientele.
