The arrival of not one but two Ferrari 296 GTS supercars in Vietnam has caused quite a stir among the country’s automotive enthusiasts. And now, a third 296 GTS has quietly made its way to the country, this time in a sleek grey finish and based in Ho Chi Minh City.
With its unique convertible design, the Ferrari 296 GTS offers the best of both worlds—the thrill of open-top driving and the practicality of a coupe. The hardtop roof can be lowered or raised at the touch of a button, although this does come at a cost; the rear engine compartment had to be partially sacrificed to accommodate the roof, resulting in a 70 kg weight penalty compared to its fixed-roof sibling, the 296 GTB.

One of the standout features of the 296 GTS is its ability to transform from a coupe to a convertible in just 14 seconds, allowing drivers to effortlessly enjoy the sunset or take in the scenery on winding roads. To compensate for the open-top design, Ferrari has equipped the 296 GTS with a wind deflector that fits into the space between the rear seats and the engine bay.
Under the hood, the Ferrari 296 GTS boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.9-liter V6 engine with an electric motor. The gasoline engine produces an impressive 654 horsepower and 425 Nm of torque, while the electric motor contributes an additional 164 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. Together, they deliver a staggering combined output of 818 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.
This potent powertrain enables the 296 GTS to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h. Moreover, the electric motor alone can propel the car up to a speed of 135 km/h and provide an all-electric range of 25 kilometers.
With no direct rivals in its segment, the Ferrari 296 GTS stands alone as a unique offering. For those seeking an even more extreme experience, Ferrari offers the Assetto Fiorano package, which includes carbon fiber components, a Multimatic suspension system, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, and racing stripes for an even more captivating appearance.
