Officially launched in 2023, the sixth generation of the Mitsubishi Triton has only been on the market for two years. However, the recent debut of the Mitsubishi Destinator, a 7-seat SUV, has sparked curiosity about whether its new design language could be adapted for this mid-size pickup truck.

Automotive publication Carscoops shared a rendering by artist Theottle, envisioning potential updates for the next Mitsubishi Triton facelift.

The images suggest significant changes primarily in the headlights, front bumper, and cargo bed cover.

The layered headlights now feature a sleeker, more seamless design, framed by aluminum accents that align with Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design philosophy. The grille and lower fascia also sport refreshed styling.

The rear of the Mitsubishi Triton in this rendering also receives visual enhancements. The taillights are redesigned and connected by a full-width LED strip spanning the cargo bed.

Carscoops suggests that the design language seen in models like the Xforce and Destinator is likely to be widely adopted across Mitsubishi’s future lineup. Alongside the Triton, the Japanese automaker may also apply this aesthetic to the Mitsubishi Pajero.

The mid-cycle refresh of the Mitsubishi Triton is expected to arrive between 2027 and 2028. According to Carscoops, beyond exterior updates, anticipated improvements include an upgraded interior and the introduction of electrified options, including a fully electric variant, for this mid-size pickup.
