On September 22, 2025, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam officially unveiled the new Xpander and Xpander Cross duo, marking a significant milestone of 120,000 units sold in Vietnam over the past 8 years. This launch solidifies the Xpander’s position as the best-selling MPV in the market.

Exterior Design: Bold and Distinctive

The new Xpander embodies a “Dynamic & Refined” style, featuring a modern aesthetic with a redesigned grille, front/rear bumpers, and Full LED T-Shape headlights with daytime running lights. The seamless sporty body kit and all-new 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels enhance its robust appearance.

Meanwhile, the Xpander Cross boasts a bold mesh grille, extended front bumper with a large protective guard, and new two-tone alloy wheels. The rear T-shape LED taillights enhance brand recognition.

Interior: More Comfortable and Modern Than Ever

The cabin has been significantly upgraded with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver and a 10-inch infotainment screen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The new 3-spoke steering wheel with vibration-damping rubber provides a secure grip and reduces vibrations.

The Xpander features an all-black interior, while the Xpander Cross offers a sporty red-black dual-tone design with heat-absorbing leather seats. Electronic parking brake, auto-hold, wireless charging, and digital climate control cater to modern user preferences.

Performance: Durable, Efficient, and Versatile

Both models are equipped with a 1.5L MIVEC engine (104 hp, 141 Nm) and a 4-speed automatic transmission, optimized for durability and fuel efficiency. The 225 mm ground clearance—the highest in its class—allows the vehicle to navigate flooded roads, potholes, and rough terrain with ease.

Safety: First-Ever 6 Airbags and AYC

The standout safety feature in this new generation is the inclusion of 6 airbags (adding side and curtain airbags) and the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system, which enhances stability during cornering or on slippery roads. Additionally, both models are equipped with ABS, EBD, BA, ASC, TCL, and HSA for maximum peace of mind.

Maintaining a Competitive Edge in the Segment

In Vietnam, the Xpander competes directly with the Toyota Veloz Cross, Suzuki XL7, Hyundai Stargazer, and Kia Carens. Given its current position, the Xpander and Xpander Cross are likely to maintain their top ranking, offering an “all-in-one” package: competitive pricing, superior ground clearance, rich features, and a well-balanced design.
