Recently, a private dealer in Ho Chi Minh City has listed the Honda Monkey Chrome Legacy for sale—a limited edition model commemorating 60 years of Honda in Thailand.
According to the dealer, only 3 units of the Honda Monkey Chrome Legacy have been imported, with an expected price tag of up to 200 million VND. In Thailand, the model is priced at 117,000 baht (approximately 95 million VND).
The Honda Monkey Chrome Legacy is produced in a limited run of 1,390 units globally, celebrating Honda’s 60-year journey in Thailand (1965-2025).
Based on the Monkey 125 platform, this anniversary edition retains its compact dimensions: 1,710 mm in length, 755 mm in width, 1,030 mm in height, and a seat height of 776 mm.
The standout feature of the Honda Monkey Chrome Legacy is its gleaming chrome finish, adorning the entire body—from the fuel tank and fenders to the side panels. This design pays homage to the iconic Monkey Z50 Chrome from the 1960s, a symbol of Honda’s early days in Southeast Asia.
The fuel tank features a 3D chrome-trimmed wing logo alongside the inscription “ThaiHonda 60th Anniversary – 1965-2025,” marking this historic milestone. The air filter cover is adorned with the number “60” and two silver monkeys, a nod to the “Monkey” moniker. The black leather seat, styled after the 1960s original, underscores the “Legacy” theme Honda aims to convey.
Despite its classic aesthetic, the Monkey Chrome Legacy incorporates modern amenities such as full LED lighting, a round LCD display, and front and rear disc brakes. The iconic red Honda wing logo confirms its premium motorcycle status.
Powered by a 124 cc single-cylinder SOHC air-cooled engine, it delivers 9.2 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Fuel efficiency is rated at just 1.5 liters/100 km, embodying Honda’s signature economy.
More than just a vehicle, the Monkey Chrome Legacy is a collector’s item. With only 1,390 units worldwide, its rarity is undeniable.
