Recently, a prototype of the 2026 Toyota Hilux was spotted undergoing road tests in Thailand.
Despite being heavily camouflaged, the 2026 Toyota Hilux test model revealed several new design elements.
In the single-cab variant, the front fascia boasts a modern aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the upgraded Toyota Corolla Cross and the latest Camry generation.
The interior is expected to undergo the most significant transformation. Leaked images from Thailand’s Headlight Magazine showcase a larger central display, additional storage compartments, a redesigned dashboard, and updated air vents. The gear shift draws inspiration from the Land Cruiser Prado. Additionally, the vehicle may feature side steps for easier bed access, though this detail has yet to appear on test models.
The 2026 Toyota Hilux is likely to retain its 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. Toyota is also exploring a plug-in hybrid option for future iterations.
