During this month, C-class sedans recorded their lowest sales since 2023, with a total of 418 units sold, marking a 15% decline compared to the previous month.

C-Class Sedan Sales in August 2025 (Unit: Cars)
Mazda3: 197 Units
The decline in sales is a common trend across the C-class sedan segment in August 2025, and the Mazda3 is no exception. This Japanese model sold 197 units, a 14.7% decrease, yet it remains the segment leader in sales.
Mazda3
Compared to its segment rivals, the Mazda3 boasts several undeniable strengths, including eye-catching design, comprehensive convenience and safety features, and an attractive price range of just 599 – 739 million VND for four versions.
Specifically, the Mazda3 is equipped with features such as LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, an 8.8-inch center touchscreen, an 8-speaker sound system, a sports steering wheel with paddle shifters, a HUD display, a sunroof, electronic parking brake, automatic temporary brake hold, dual-zone automatic climate control, and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Under the hood, the Mazda3 is powered by a SkyActiv-G 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 110 horsepower and a peak torque of 146 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and the advanced GVC Plus acceleration control system.
Kia K3: 104 Units
In second place within the C-class sedan segment in August 2025 is the familiar Kia K3. This model sold 104 units, a significant 16.8% decrease. It recorded the highest sales decline in the C-class sedan segment during the month.
Kia K3
Compared to the segment leader, the Mazda3, the Kia K3 is even more affordable, priced between 579 – 689 million VND. Unfortunately, this model lacks active safety features (ADAS) found in its segment competitors. Additionally, the Korean model has not received design or equipment updates for a long time, leading to a decline in sales.
When purchasing the Kia K3, Vietnamese customers can choose from three engine options: a 1.6L gasoline engine, a 2.0L gasoline engine, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine. These engines produce 126 horsepower/155 Nm, 150 horsepower/192 Nm, and 201 horsepower/265 Nm, respectively. They are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Honda Civic: 55 Units
The third position in the C-class sedan segment in August 2025 is held by the Honda Civic. This model achieved modest sales of 55 units, an 8.3% decrease.
Honda Civic
The Honda Civic’s modest sales in Vietnam are not surprising, given its relatively high price within the segment, ranging from 789 – 999 million VND. However, it compensates with a sporty design, standard active safety features (ADAS), a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain, and an impressive driving experience.
The Honda Civic’s highlights include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, two Type-C charging ports, navigation, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Additionally, the vehicle features a new hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and an E-CVT automatic transmission integrated with a generator motor, producing a total output of 200 horsepower.
Alternatively, there is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 176 horsepower and a peak torque of 240 Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Hyundai Elantra: 43 Units
August 2025 was not a successful month for the Hyundai Elantra, with sales dropping 15.6% to 43 units. Consequently, it ranks fourth in the C-class sedan segment.
Hyundai Elantra
The Hyundai Elantra offers a reasonable price within the segment, ranging from 579 – 769 million VND. However, its distinctive design appeals to a relatively niche audience.
Notable features of the Elantra in Vietnam include LED headlights, hands-free power trunk, automatic wipers, a flat-bottom sports steering wheel, 10-way power-adjustable leather seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch center touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and a 6-speaker sound system.
The Hyundai Elantra shares its powertrain options with the Kia K3, including a 1.6L Gamma II gasoline engine, a 2.0L Nu gasoline engine, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine. These engines produce between 128 – 204 horsepower and deliver peak torque ranging from 155 – 265 Nm.
Toyota Corolla Altis: 19 Units
The model with the lowest sales in the C-class sedan segment is the Toyota Corolla Altis. It sold 19 units, a 13.6% decrease, and ranked among the top 10 least-selling cars in the Vietnamese market in August 2025.
Toyota Corolla Altis
The Toyota Corolla Altis lacks a price advantage, with a range of 725 – 870 million VND. Moreover, its design and features have remained largely unchanged for an extended period.
The Toyota Corolla Altis offers a variety of features, including a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, auto-adjusting rearview mirror during reverse, blind-spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and a 360-degree camera.
Under the hood, the model is powered by two engine options. The first is a 1.8L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 138 horsepower and a peak torque of 172 Nm. The second is a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.8L gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 122 horsepower. Both are paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.
