Toyota is gearing up for a series of major announcements surrounding its new, secretive project, uniting its subsidiary brands including Gazoo Racing (GR), Lexus, Century, and Daihatsu. Ahead of the October 13 press conference, the company has unveiled the first image of a GR-badged supercar. This mysterious vehicle is expected to become Toyota’s flagship high-performance model.
The image shared by Toyota on social media features a new billboard at Fuji Speedway in Japan, labeled “GT Corner.” The billboard showcases three vehicles: the 1967 Toyota 2000GT, the 2010 Lexus LFA, and a new GR-badged supercar positioned at the forefront.
It remains unclear whether “GT Corner” is purely symbolic or hints at the official name of the upcoming vehicle. Speculation suggests the new model could be named the Toyota GR GT.
Toyota’s new supercar may bear the GR GT name.
The billboard image is accompanied by the caption, “To the right is the 2000GT, next to it is the LFA, and beside that is…?” This teaser suggests Toyota has bypassed the rumored Lexus LFR, which was speculated to succeed the LFA. Instead, Toyota is developing an entirely new supercar under the Gazoo Racing brand.
Prototypes have been spotted testing on both tracks and public roads, indicating the vehicle is based on the 2022 Toyota GR GT3 Concept. Over the past few years, the car has been seen undergoing trials and even appeared at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The latest teaser reveals sharp LED headlights, a prominent black strip, and aggressive front air intakes, closely matching the production-ready prototype. The track-focused version will feature enhanced aerodynamic elements, additional LED lights, and side-mounted exhausts, delivering an ultra-sporty appearance.
Details about the car’s specifications remain scarce. However, it is expected to utilize an aluminum chassis paired with a carbon fiber body, enhancing rigidity while reducing weight. Rumors suggest a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine, combined with an electric motor in a self-charging hybrid system, blending electrification with Toyota’s racing heritage.
Following its October 13 unveiling, the Toyota GR GT is set to debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 later this month. Toyota’s press conference will not only introduce the new GR supercar but also outline a comprehensive vision connecting Century, Lexus, Toyota, and Daihatsu under a new high-performance strategy.
Leaked information hints that Century may evolve into a standalone global brand, expanding its product lineup. Lexus could reveal more about the Sport Concept showcased at The Quail, rumored to succeed the LC line, or tease the next-generation LS luxury sedan. Additionally, Toyota may share details about the GR Celica project, reportedly featuring a mid-engine layout.
While specifics are still limited, the October 13 event is poised to mark a significant milestone, ushering in a new era for Toyota’s performance and luxury vehicles.
