Vietnam’s automobile market in September 2025 witnessed a remarkable surge in gasoline and diesel vehicles, with numerous models achieving double-digit growth rates.
Among them, the Toyota Yaris Cross made a stunning comeback, claiming the top spot and surpassing popular models like the Xpander, Ranger, and CX-5.
Below are the top 10 best-selling gasoline and diesel cars in September 2025:
Toyota Yaris Cross: 1,964 units
In September, the Toyota Yaris Cross sold 1,964 units, a 94% increase from August. This performance not only placed it first among gasoline and diesel vehicles but also fifth in the overall market.
With a total of 9,655 units sold in the first nine months, the Yaris Cross is Toyota Vietnam’s best-selling model in 2025, surpassing even the legendary Toyota Vios.
Currently available in two variants priced between 650 and 765 million VND, the Yaris Cross is highly regarded for its dynamic design, fuel efficiency, and reliable brand reputation.
Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,792 units
The Mitsubishi Xpander secured second place with 1,792 units sold, a nearly 98% increase from the previous month. This MPV remains Mitsubishi’s top performer in Vietnam, with cumulative sales of 12,438 units in the first nine months of 2025. The Xpander is available in four variants, priced between 560 and 698 million VND.
Ford Ranger: 1,683 units
The Ford Ranger maintained its strong appeal, with September sales rising 11.4% to 1,683 units. Year-to-date, the Ranger remains Vietnam’s best-selling gasoline and diesel vehicle, with 12,577 units delivered to customers.
Mitsubishi Xforce: 1,374 units
In September, the Mitsubishi Xforce recorded 1,374 units sold, a 474-unit increase from August. This result solidified its position among the top 10 best-selling gasoline and diesel vehicles in Vietnam for September 2025.
Imported from Indonesia, the Xforce is available in four variants—GLX, Exceed, Premium, and Ultimate—with prices ranging from 599 to 705 million VND.
Mazda CX-5: 1,311 units
In September, the Mazda CX-5 sold 1,311 units, a 28% increase from August. Year-to-date, Mazda has delivered 11,306 CX-5 units to customers.
The Mazda CX-5 is domestically assembled and offered in seven variants, with prices ranging from 749 to 979 million VND.
Toyota Vios: 1,292 units
The Toyota Vios demonstrated the enduring appeal of traditional sedans, selling 1,292 units—an increase of over 560 units from August. A promotion equivalent to 100% of the registration fee continues to boost its attractiveness. The Vios is priced between 458 and 545 million VND.
Ford Territory: 1,120 units
The Ford Territory saw explosive growth in September, selling 1,120 units—nearly double the previous month’s sales. A mid-cycle refresh, featuring a more modern design and enhanced technology, helped the crossover regain market share. The Territory is priced between 762 and 896 million VND.
Ford Everest: 1,069 units
The Ford Everest sold 1,069 units in September 2025. Year-to-date, Ford has delivered 8,345 Everest units to customers. Imported from Thailand, the Everest is available in five variants, priced between 1.099 and 1.545 billion VND.
Toyota Corolla Cross: 984 units
In ninth place, the Toyota Corolla Cross sold 984 units, a 311-unit increase from August. This urban SUV remains popular due to its stylish design, reliable performance, and low fuel consumption. The Corolla Cross is available in two variants, priced at 820 and 905 million VND.
Hyundai Tucson: 952 units
Rounding out the list is the Hyundai Tucson, which returned to the top 10 after a three-month absence, selling 952 units. It is currently Hyundai’s best-selling model in Vietnam. The Tucson is domestically assembled and offered in four variants, priced between 769 and 989 million VND.
