Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) is thrilled to announce the launch and exhibition of the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi (8 Do Duc Duc, Tu Liem District, Hanoi) on October 16-17, 2025.

Since its inception in 1947, the E-Class has held a special place in the brand’s heritage. Over nearly 80 years, tens of millions of E-Class vehicles have accompanied customers worldwide, becoming synonymous with success, style, and prestige. In Vietnam, this legacy holds even deeper significance.

In 1996, the E-Class became the first model assembled by MBV in Vietnam, marking the beginning of luxury vehicle production in the country.

Mr. Gerd Bitterlich, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, shared: “In Vietnam, the E-Class has been a companion to thousands of customers over three decades, witnessing the growth of many progressive generations. Today, the 6th generation E-Class – W214 – elevates this icon by blending luxurious heritage with technological evolution, reaffirming its status and writing a new chapter in its legendary history.”

The new E-Class introduces groundbreaking features to the Mercedes-Benz lineup in Vietnam, including the MBUX Superscreen, 3D three-pointed star rear lights, in-cabin Selfie Camera, Digital Vent Control, Sound Visualization, and driver monitoring camera. These innovations create a modern, intelligent, and inspiring driving experience.

Launching in Vietnam on October 16, the E-Class W214 is available in three variants:

E 200 Avantgarde – starting at VND 2,449,000,000 – embodies the pioneering spirit and contemporary style of Mercedes-Benz.

E 200 Exclusive – starting at VND 2,589,000,000 (*) – represents the epitome of elegance and classic luxury.

E 300 AMG – starting at VND 3,209,000,000 – symbolizes dynamism and modernity, blending emotion with cutting-edge technology.

(*) Prices may vary depending on specific configurations of the E 200 Exclusive variant. Please contact your nearest authorized dealer for details.

These variants offer a perfect balance of technology and refined elegance, providing Vietnamese customers with exceptional and prestigious choices from the E-Class lineup.

The event also features two exciting highlights:

Exhibition of two iconic vintage models – the Mercedes-Benz 190 “Ponton” and Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124, showcasing nearly 80 years of E-Class heritage and evolution, symbolizing durability, class, and innovation.

Presentation of the “Lacquer” collection by designer Phan Dang Hoang, in collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar. This collection, debuted at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, merges traditional Vietnamese art with modern design, featuring layered fabrics reminiscent of lacquer’s glossy finish. It embodies the spirit of the new E-Class – a timeless icon elevated for the modern era, blending ancient aesthetics with contemporary beauty.

EXHIBITION OF TWO VINTAGE MODELS: NEARLY 80 YEARS OF E-CLASS HERITAGE

To honor the E-Class’s nearly 80-year history, the event showcases two iconic vintage models: the Mercedes-Benz 190 “Ponton” and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124. These masterpieces represent not only technical innovation but also enduring quality, having captivated millions of owners worldwide.

The Mercedes-Benz 190 “Ponton,” introduced in 1953, is one of the most significant models in the brand’s history. As Mercedes-Benz’s first monocoque-bodied car, the Ponton replaced the Type 170 and accounted for 80% of the company’s production at the time. Unveiled at the 1953 Frankfurt Motor Show, it featured a 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine producing 50-80 hp, offering post-war elegance and performance.

The “Ponton” design, inspired by ship hulls, featured smooth lines, round headlights, and a horizontal grille, shaping Mercedes-Benz’s sedan design language. Today, Pontons are prized by collectors for their “timeless” durability, capable of running hundreds of thousands of kilometers without major issues. At the event, a Ponton 190 is displayed with its glossy paint and classic leather interior, inviting visitors to experience the “golden age” of the E-Class.

Continuing this legacy is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124, first introduced in 1984. By 1993, it became the first model globally to bear the E-Class name.

The W124, known as the “Engineer’s E-Class,” is celebrated for its technical excellence. As one of Mercedes-Benz’s most diverse models, it offered over 20 variants. Renowned for its multi-link independent suspension, standard ABS, and superior safety, the W124’s boxy design optimized aerodynamics, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.30 Cd.

Notable features of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124 include:

Asymmetric side mirrors – a smaller square mirror on the right and a larger rectangular one on the left – optimized visibility and reduced drag, reflecting Mercedes-Benz’s engineering focus.

Mechanical soft-close doors: Despite being a 1980s model, the W124’s doors close with exceptional smoothness and precision, showcasing Mercedes-Benz’s meticulous craftsmanship.

Legendary durability: Many W124s have surpassed 1 million miles without major engine overhauls, and active W124 clubs worldwide continue to celebrate this model.

PRESENTATION OF THE “LACQUER” COLLECTION BY PHAN DANG HOANG

The event also features a collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar to present the “Lacquer” collection by designer Phan Dang Hoang. This 15-piece collection, inspired by the lacquer paintings of artist Nguyen Gia Tri, was recently showcased at Milan Fashion Week, garnering international attention for its celebration of Vietnamese lacquer art through a modern lens.

The collection’s minimalist silhouettes conceal depth through intricate materials, hand-weaving, embroidery, and layered structures. Each fabric layer is treated, stacked, and stitched like lacquer layers, creating a visually stunning effect that glows with light and tradition. “Lacquer” marks a significant shift for Hoang, offering designs for both men and women, affirming that beauty, inspiration, and craftsmanship transcend boundaries.

From My A silk to hand-weaving, embroidery, and structural layering, every detail reflects the philosophy of “stillness in motion, depth in simplicity.” With “Lacquer,” Phan Dang Hoang not only tells a fashion story but also celebrates cultural values, where beauty is honed over time, through skilled hands, and a belief in art.

The fusion of high fashion and luxury automobiles is more than a showcase; it’s how Mercedes-Benz celebrates a sophisticated lifestyle, honoring Vietnamese cultural values and craftsmanship.

With the all-new E-Class at its core, the “Launch and Exhibition of the New Mercedes-Benz E-Class” is more than a new model unveiling – it’s an invitation to experience holistic luxury. MBV aims to accompany customers on their journey to conquer the future, where every drive is a masterpiece.
