The Toyota Innova Cross, a mid-sized MPV, made its debut in the Vietnamese market in October 2023. After two years, this popular model is set to introduce a new, more affordable variant.

According to insider reports, the new version of the Toyota Innova Cross is expected to launch in Vietnam during the fourth quarter of this year. Toyota Vietnam has confirmed that this variant will feature reduced equipment to lower the price, making it more accessible to a broader range of customers.

Details on which features will be omitted from the new variant remain undisclosed. However, it is known that the vehicle will continue to be imported from Indonesia, equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This powertrain delivers a maximum output of 172 horsepower and a peak torque of 205 Nm.

Currently, the Toyota Innova Cross is available in Vietnam in two variants: Gasoline and Hybrid, priced between 825 million and 1.005 billion VND. One of its standout features is the comprehensive standard equipment offered even in the base model.

The standard model of the Toyota Innova Cross comes equipped with automatic LED headlights with a follow-me-home function, combined LED taillights, front LED fog lights, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals, power tailgate, leather upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger seat, a 7-inch TFT multi-info display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker audio system, electronic parking brake, and auto-hold brake function, among other features.

Compared to the top-tier variant, the standard Toyota Innova Cross lacks a few premium features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, a panoramic sunroof, and 4-way power-adjustable captain’s chairs in the second row.

The pricing for the new Toyota Innova Cross variant has not yet been revealed. Speculations suggest it will be priced between 700 and 800 million VND.

The introduction of this new variant is likely aimed at filling the gap left by the discontinuation of the previous-generation Innova in Vietnam, which was previously priced at 750 million VND.
