Toyota has officially set the launch date for the Toyota Hilux TRAVO pickup truck on November 10, 2025, in the Southeast Asian market.
Hilux TRAVO is considered the next-generation evolution of the Hilux REVO, which has been on the market for nearly a decade.
While still built on the chassis and body of the Hilux REVO, Toyota states that the Hilux TRAVO has undergone significant redesigns and improvements. The frame-to-body connection points have been reinforced, delivering a more stable driving experience and a more solid feel behind the wheel, mirroring the development approach seen in the latest Toyota Camry generation.
Based on patent design filings, the exterior has been almost entirely refreshed, particularly at the front and rear. The grille is larger, with a more squared-off and assertive SUV-inspired design, while the LED headlights and front bumper have been reimagined to emphasize a muscular aesthetic. The side profile retains familiar proportions, but refined body lines and side cladding enhance its rugged, versatile appeal, catering to both commercial and family needs.
The Hilux TRAVO interior has been completely redesigned, adopting a more luxurious and refined style. Toyota cites inspiration from the iconic Land Cruiser SUV line.
The layered center console is driver-oriented, while the new gear selector and climate control layout improve ergonomics. Cupholders positioned near the air vents demonstrate Toyota’s heightened focus on comfort and convenience.
Rumors suggest the 2026 Hilux TRAVO will offer three powertrain options. The first is a 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine (1GD-FTV) producing 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive and part-time 4WD will be available, with B20 biodiesel compatibility and Euro 5 emissions compliance.
The second option is a high-output 2.8L turbocharged diesel delivering 224 hp and 550 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic and part-time 4WD.
An all-electric variant is also expected, featuring a rear-mounted motor and 59.4 kWh battery for an estimated 300 km WLTP range.
Toyota confirms the EV version will be produced in Thailand under the government’s EV3.5 policy, complementing imported BZ4X models and increasing local production of green vehicles.
Initially, Toyota will launch the 4-door Double Cab variant with the 2.8L diesel and EV powertrains. Additional variants, including the Lo-Floor model and a 2.4L turbocharged diesel (2GD), will follow in 2026.
