The Omoda 4 was unveiled at the Chery International User Conference 2025 held last week. It is essentially a renamed version of the compact SUV Omoda 3, which was introduced in April this year.

According to reporters present at the launch event in Wuhu, China, the name Omoda 4 was chosen to align with Chery’s new naming strategy. Omoda CEO, Shawn Xu, shared with Car magazine: “We create cars alongside our customers. The name Omoda 4 better reflects their preferences. We want customers to tell us what they like and dislike.”

Compared to the Omoda C3 launched earlier this year, the Omoda C4 retains the same design. It features a sharp, angular design with prominent lines, reminiscent of the Lamborghini Urus.

The front end stands out with slim LED daytime running lights above the main headlights. The headlights are connected by a large black grille in the center. Below is a wide air intake with square-patterned slats. Additional features include angular wheel arches, hidden door handles, blacked-out C-pillars, sporty alloy wheels, and L-shaped taillights with a unique lightning bolt graphic.

The vehicle displayed at the event featured a “225T” badge at the rear, suggesting the Omoda 4 may share the same 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the Omoda 5. In the Omoda 5, this engine delivers 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque.

Inside, the Omoda 4 features the Starship Cockpit, inspired by spaceship design. This interior was first introduced when the vehicle was still called the Omoda 3. The cockpit includes a slim digital instrument cluster and a vertically oriented central infotainment screen.

According to Car magazine, the Omoda 4 is expected to launch in the UK market in the second half of 2026.
