At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Honda officially unveiled the Super-ONE Prototype electric vehicle.

The Super-ONE Prototype is developed by Honda under the “e: dash booster” design philosophy, aiming to transform everyday urban commutes into thrilling and emotionally engaging driving experiences.

The name “Super-ONE” implies “one and only,” reflecting Honda’s pioneering spirit in bridging the gap between the practicality of k-cars (compact vehicles) and the brand’s signature driving pleasure. This is not just another urban electric vehicle; it’s a bold experiment in merging electrification with Honda’s sporty DNA.

The Super-ONE Prototype is built on the N Series chassis, renowned for its agility and maneuverability in urban environments. Despite its compact size, the concept car impresses with its widened wheel arches, enhancing the wheelbase and creating a sturdy, powerful stance.

The exterior details exude pure sports car aesthetics, featuring a low hood, aerodynamic front bumper, and sleek LED headlights. The design of the Super-ONE Prototype prioritizes dynamism and compactness over flashy elements.

The interior of the Super-ONE Prototype embraces minimalism with a sporty edge, featuring contoured seats upholstered in contrasting blue and black fabric, reminiscent of the new-generation Honda Prelude’s cabin.

The dashboard is designed with a flat, horizontal layout, enhancing driver focus. It features the “Triple Meter Display”—a digital trio of gauges showing operational data—alongside ambient lighting that changes with driving modes, delivering a multisensory driving experience engaging sight, sound, and touch.

While Honda has not yet disclosed the Super-ONE’s powertrain details, the vehicle will feature a 7-speed virtual gearbox. The standout feature of the Super-ONE Prototype is the “Boost Mode,” offering acceleration akin to internal combustion sports cars. When activated, the system optimizes motor output, synchronizing with Virtual Step-Shift Control and Active Sound Control to simulate gear shifts and engine sounds.

Before its Japanese debut, the Super-ONE Prototype underwent testing in various markets, including Japan, the UK, and several Asian countries. This cross-national testing allowed Honda to refine the vehicle’s handling, chassis balance, and ride comfort for diverse road conditions.

The Super-ONE Prototype is an extension of Honda’s comprehensive electrification strategy. By focusing not only on mid-range and premium electric vehicles but also on compact cars, Honda aims to demonstrate that BEV technology can seamlessly integrate into its traditional strengths in the Japanese market.
