On the morning of November 3, 2025, a Porsche 930 Turbo sports car, produced from 1975 to 1989, captured the attention of car enthusiasts and foreign tourists alike in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Unlike the modern 911 models, the 930 is a rare sight on today’s streets.
The Porsche 930 Turbo is the predecessor to the later Porsche 911 sports car models. This legacy inspired a Ho Chi Minh City-based entrepreneur to amass an impressive collection of four 930s.
Compared to previous appearances, the exterior has been subtly updated with a brighter UN logo, making it stand out against the black paint. Previously, the logo was blacked out, blending into the body color without creating a focal point.
Many observers were intrigued by the car’s rear end, particularly the two large bumps on either side of the license plate. These rubber protrusions are a telltale sign of the vehicle’s American origin.
In the U.S. market, classic Porsche sports cars and even hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron must incorporate these bumps to meet safety regulations.

The Porsche 930, produced from 1975 to 1989, is a legendary sports car also known as the 911 Turbo. Upon its debut, it was Porsche’s flagship 911 model and Germany’s fastest car.
Its prowess stems from a turbocharged 3.3-liter 6-cylinder engine, delivering 282 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 412 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
This U.S.-imported Porsche 930 Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. For those seeking the European variant’s 278 km/h top speed, a different model is required.
