Ahead of the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, Kia has unveiled the first images of the second-generation Telluride. This all-new model is positioned as a comprehensive upgrade, enhancing design, size, and in-cabin technology.
The 2026 Kia Telluride features a 58 mm longer body, a 75 mm extended wheelbase, and a 25 mm increase in height compared to its predecessor, delivering a more commanding presence and balanced proportions.
The new generation adopts a boxy design language, replacing the previous soft curves. Flattened body panels, slightly flared wheel arches, and a sleeker D-pillar give the SUV a robust and decisive stance.
The signature vertical headlights remain, but the grille has been completely redesigned with a thicker, deeper structure. Slim, body-length taillights reminiscent of the Range Rover elevate the premium feel compared to the previous model.
The standard version features a sealed vertical grille for aerodynamic efficiency, while the X-Pro variant caters to adventure seekers with a larger grille, metal tow hooks, a roof rack, off-road tires, and a 231 mm ground clearance for enhanced off-road capability.
Inside, the 2026 Telluride’s cabin is fully redesigned, drawing inspiration from the EV9. A minimalist dashboard features dual 12.3-inch screens under a single panel, a four-spoke steering wheel, and a column-mounted gear selector, freeing up central space.
Increased vehicle dimensions provide more legroom across all three rows. Kia highlights improved seating configurability, prioritizing comfort and practicality for long journeys.
Kia has not yet detailed the powertrain, but rumors suggest the 3.8L V6 will be replaced by a 3.5L V6 producing around 287 hp. A new PHEV variant may pair a 2.5L turbo engine with an electric motor, aligning with North America’s fuel efficiency and emissions trends.
The Telluride will not offer an all-electric variant, as the Kia EV9 already occupies this segment in the brand’s electric SUV lineup.
With its boxy design, modern interior, and anticipated performance upgrades, the 2026 Kia Telluride marks a significant leap in Kia’s brand elevation journey in the U.S. It’s poised to compete fiercely with rivals like the Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-90, and Chevrolet Traverse, solidifying Kia’s position in the large three-row SUV segment.
The new Telluride will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show from November 21–30, with sales commencing in early 2026.
