Recently, Ford announced the reservation for the electric Bronco Basecamp. The Ford Bronco Basecamp will be priced between 229,800 – 282,800 CNY (approximately $32,000 – $40,000 USD).

Bronco Basecamp is developed by Ford through a joint venture with Jiangling Motors Corporation to meet the growing demand for large electric SUVs in China.

The vehicle boasts a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, equivalent to the large 4-door Bronco in the U.S. Its total length reaches 5,025 mm, surpassing the standard Bronco by 20 cm and the Bronco Sport by over half a meter.

While retaining the muscular spirit of the Bronco lineage, the Basecamp variant is tailored to Asian consumer preferences, emphasizing spacious interiors, smart utilities, advanced technology, and a focus on eco-friendliness.

The vehicle features a retractable roof that can be raised like a mini tent, paired with fold-flat seats to transform the cabin into a resting space during outdoor adventures.

Inside the cockpit, the Bronco Basecamp is equipped with a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, and a large 70-inch HUD display. It also features over 30 sensors, cameras, and a roof-mounted LIDAR sensor to support advanced driving features.

Powering the Bronco Basecamp EV in China are two electric motors delivering 445 horsepower. With a 105.4 kWh battery pack, the vehicle can travel approximately 650 km on a single charge according to the CLTC standard.

Additionally, Ford offers a range-extended version combining an electric motor with a 1.5L gasoline engine. This powertrain delivers 416 horsepower, providing an all-electric range of 220 km and a total range of up to 1,220 km when using both fuel sources.

Currently, Ford has not announced plans to export the electric Bronco Basecamp to other markets. Given the rising demand for electric SUVs in Vietnam, this model could generate significant interest if distributed, though its availability in Vietnam remains unconfirmed.
