Czech Republic’s Skoda brand is set to commence automobile assembly in Vietnam from Q1 2025, launching with the Slavia and Kushaq models. By 2026, Skoda will expand its production line to include electric vehicles at its facility within the Viet Hung Industrial Zone, Quang Ninh Province. The first electric model to be assembled in Vietnam is the Enyaq. Additionally, the Skoda Elroq, an electric vehicle designed to replace the Karoq, may also be assembled and sold in Vietnam in the near future.

Globally unveiled in October 2024, the Skoda Elroq belongs to the C-segment SUV category. Its dimensions are 4,488 mm in length, 1,884 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765 mm. This electric SUV is 98 mm longer and has a 127 mm longer wheelbase compared to the Skoda Karoq currently available in Vietnam.

Beyond its substantial size, the Elroq features Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language. The front fascia, dubbed the Tech-Deck Face, includes a closed-off grille finished in glossy black and a dual-tier headlight setup. The upper LED daytime running lights double as turn signals, resembling those of the Mitsubishi Xpander. Below, the main horizontal headlights are seamlessly integrated with vertical air intakes.

The hood features prominent creases and a raised “Skoda” lettering instead of the brand logo. The front bumper incorporates a large central air intake with an active cooling function. The side profile boasts dynamic creases, enhancing the sporty aesthetic of this European electric vehicle. Skoda reports a drag coefficient of just 0.26 Cd for the Elroq.

Other notable exterior features include 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels, sleek taillights, and vertical air vents on the rear bumper. Black accents on the front and rear bumpers, wheel arches, and side skirts further accentuate the Elroq’s robust appearance.
