D-Segment SUV Sales in November 2025 (units: vehicles)

Ford Everest: 1,449 Units

Riding the wave of market growth, the Ford Everest saw increased sales in November 2025. The American SUV sold 1,449 units, a 2.4% increase, securing its position as the leader in the D-segment SUV category. Remarkably, the Everest’s sales surpassed the combined totals of all its competitors in the segment.

Ford Everest

In the first 11 months of 2025, the Ford Everest was the choice of 11,209 Vietnamese customers. With these results, Ford’s flagship SUV firmly holds the title of “king” in the D-segment SUV category this year.

The Ford Everest in Vietnam offers multiple variants with prices ranging from VND 1.099 billion to VND 1.545 billion. Despite not being the most affordable, its appealing design, ample amenities, and robust safety features make it a popular choice.

The Everest is powered by two 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel engines. The first is a single-turbo engine producing 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The bi-turbo engine delivers 210 hp and 500 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, exclusive to premium variants.

Mazda CX-8: 296 Units

In November 2025, the Mazda CX-8 climbed to second place in the D-segment SUV category. It sold 296 units, a significant 29.8% increase.

Mazda CX-8

The Mazda CX-8 stands out as one of the most attractively priced models in the segment, ranging from VND 969 million to VND 1.149 billion. Its sleek design and competitive features further enhance its appeal.

Under the hood, the CX-8 features a naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, generating 188 hp and 252 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5 Luxury and 2.5 Premium variants use front-wheel drive (FWD), while the 2.5 Signature AWD offers all-wheel drive.

Toyota Fortuner: 286 Units

The Toyota Fortuner secured third place in the D-segment SUV category. Its sales dipped by 4.6% to 286 units, falling behind the Mazda CX-8.

Toyota Fortuner

The Fortuner has lost some of its luster due to its largely unchanged design and features over the past few years. Additionally, its price, ranging from VND 1.055 billion to VND 1.35 billion, is not particularly competitive.

For the price, customers get a choice of three engines: a 2.4L diesel, a 2.8L diesel, and a 2.7L gasoline engine. These engines deliver 147 hp/400 Nm, 201 hp/500 Nm, and 164 hp/245 Nm, respectively. All engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and offer rear-wheel drive or 4WD options.

Hyundai Santa Fe: 201 Units

The Hyundai Santa Fe ranked next in the D-segment SUV category, with 201 units sold in November 2025, a 3.3% decrease.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Despite recent price reductions exceeding VND 100 million, the Santa Fe’s sales have stagnated. This may be partly due to its controversial exterior design and the absence of the popular diesel variant.

The Santa Fe is powered by two 2.5L Smartstream 4-cylinder gasoline engines. The naturally aspirated version produces 194 hp and 246 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and available in FWD or HTRAC AWD configurations.

The turbocharged engine delivers 281 hp and 422 Nm, mated to an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and HTRAC AWD.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is available in five variants, priced between VND 1.069 billion and VND 1.365 billion.

Kia Sorento: 93 Units

The Kia Sorento saw the sharpest sales decline in the D-segment SUV category in November 2025, with only 93 units sold, a 30% drop.

Kia Sorento

Despite being the D-segment SUV with the most variants in Vietnam, the Sorento’s pricing, ranging from VND 954 million to VND 1.499 billion, is less appealing. Even with upgraded designs and ongoing promotions, the Korean SUV has struggled to boost sales.

The new Sorento offers two engine options: a 2.5L Smartstream gasoline engine and a 2.0L Smartstream diesel engine. The gasoline engine produces 177 hp and 232 Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine delivers 198 hp and 440 Nm, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both engines feature Normal/Eco/Sport/Smart driving modes and Snow/Sand/Mud terrain modes.

Isuzu mu-X: 29 Units

The Isuzu mu-X ranked second-to-last in D-segment SUV sales, with 29 units sold, a 12.1% decline from the previous month. This result keeps the mu-X among Vietnam’s least-selling vehicles.

Isuzu mu-X

Like the Mazda CX-8, the mu-X is competitively priced, ranging from VND 928 million to VND 1.269 billion. However, its polarizing design and association with commercial trucks have limited its appeal.

The mu-X is powered by a 1.9L RZ4E-TC turbocharged diesel engine, producing 150 hp and 350 Nm. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, depending on the variant.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport: 27 Units

After months of zero sales, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport returned to the charts with 27 units sold. This result places it at the bottom of the D-segment SUV category and among Vietnam’s least-selling vehicles.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

The Pajero Sport is available in two variants, priced between VND 1.13 billion and VND 1.365 billion. Its non-competitive pricing, coupled with an unchanged design and features over time, has diminished its appeal.

The Pajero Sport is equipped with a 2.4L MIVEC diesel engine, delivering 178 hp and 430 Nm. It offers both single-axle and dual-axle drivetrains, with a rear differential lock.
