Peugeot is set to revive its most iconic two-wheeled model in history – the Peugeot 103.

However, instead of the traditional gasoline engine, the new-generation Peugeot 103 will be equipped with an electric motor. This strategic move aims to blend Peugeot’s heritage with the growing demand for sustainable mobility.

First launched in 1971, the Peugeot 103 quickly became one of the world’s most popular mopeds. Its compact design, simple mechanics, and affordable price made it a favorite among young riders.

After more than half a century, Peugeot believes the core values that made the 103 a success remain relevant, especially as electric vehicles gain traction globally.

The electric Peugeot 103 is specifically designed for urban environments. Rather than focusing on power or speed, it prioritizes practicality, ease of use, and daily commuting needs, staying true to the original 103 spirit.

According to initial reports, the electric Peugeot 103 will offer two removable battery options: 1.6 kWh and 2.2 kWh. These capacities are standard for small electric vehicles, providing sufficient range for short city trips and convenient off-bike charging.

The expected range is approximately 45 km with the 1.6 kWh battery and 65 km with the 2.2 kWh battery. Peugeot states that the smaller battery will deliver performance comparable to a 50cc scooter, while the larger battery rivals a 125cc model.

The Peugeot 103 can reach a top speed of around 48 km/h with the 1.6 kWh battery and approximately 72.5 km/h with the larger battery option.

The bike features a monolithic aluminum frame with a single-sided rear swingarm. Suspension includes 37 mm Kayaba front forks and a rear mono-shock with linkage.

The electric Peugeot 103 is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display for operational information. Additional electronic features have not yet been detailed by the manufacturer.
Customers can choose from two accessory packages. The Protect Pack adds a windshield, leg shields, and side panels for enhanced protection. The Comfort Pack focuses on convenience with a semi-rigid rear box, phone holder, and premium seat.
Peugeot has not yet announced the official price of the electric 103, but rumors suggest it will be around €3,000 (approximately 93 million VND).
