Green GSM Officially Launches Electric Taxi Service in Davao City

This initiative is part of a long-term plan to promote a green, modern, and efficient transportation system in key urban areas across the Philippines.

The launch event was attended by Mr. Nonito Llanos, Regional Director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Davao, along with representatives from the Davao government and local business partners.

As one of the largest urban centers in Mindanao, Davao plays a crucial role in the Philippines’ economic and social landscape. The city is renowned for its focus on community safety, environmental conservation, and social cohesion, which collectively contribute to a transportation system that prioritizes safety, stability, and public trust.

In recent years, Davao has experienced steady population growth, increased commercial activity, and rising daily commuting demands. Concurrently, the local government has made continuous efforts to improve air quality, promote responsible urban development, and enhance long-term quality of life. These conditions make Davao an ideal environment for modern, efficient, and people-centric mobility solutions.

Green GSM’s operational model in Davao is built upon the 5 Green Promises: Great Experience, Great Drivers, Great Vehicles, Great Prices, and a Greener Environment. These commitments include the exclusive use of zero-emission VinFast electric vehicles; a full-time, professionally trained driver team; transparent pricing via the app; and a commitment to cleaner air, quieter streets, and an improved quality of life. Through these standards, Green GSM aims to support the city’s sustainable transportation goals and provide residents with a reliable daily commuting option.

Mr. Đào Quý Phi, CEO of Green GSM Southeast Asia, stated: “Davao is a city that values order, safety, and environmental responsibility. Green GSM’s goal is to offer a zero-emission, reliable transportation option that aligns with these priorities and meets the daily travel needs of its residents. Expanding to Davao is a strategic step in our mission to develop an all-electric mobility platform in the Philippines. We look forward to collaborating closely with local authorities and communities to ensure our service meaningfully contributes to the city’s sustainable urban development goals.”

Davao residents can now book Green GSM taxis via the Green GSM app, hotline, designated pick-up points, or by hailing directly in key commercial areas. To celebrate the Davao launch, customers who download and register on the Green GSM app will automatically receive 25 Green Points, each worth 1 peso. These points can be used for the first ride or applied flexibly to future trips.
