Attracting hundreds of customers to appraise their old gasoline vehicles and switch to new electric ones, VinFast’s “Gas Swap for Electric Day” event highlights the growing public interest in eco-friendly transportation.

VinFast’s “Gas Swap for Electric Day” event continued in Hanoi over the recent weekend (December 6-7), drawing a large crowd of attendees.

Thanks to the all-in-one model—covering on-site appraisal of old vehicles, test drives of electric models, and policy consultations—many customers confidently decided to trade in their gasoline vehicles for electric ones.

From early morning, VinFast dealership booths welcomed a large number of visitors eager to learn about electric vehicles.

A representative from a participating VinFast dealership noted that the booths were crowded with customers completing trade-in procedures right from the first day. Many expressed their desire for a beautifully designed vehicle with excellent features and flexible charging options, either at home or public stations.

“After test-driving, many customers, including several women, were highly satisfied with everything from the design to the driving experience. Many expressed trust in VinFast as the leading brand in the market,” the representative shared.

Electric vehicles are user-friendly, allowing even first-time drivers to master them quickly after a brief tutorial.

The worsening air quality in Hanoi was cited as a reason for the event’s increased attendance. This sentiment was echoed by Ms. Vũ Thị Khánh Ly, a 25-year-old office worker. “I often work downtown, so switching to an electric vehicle is essential for my commute. Additionally, it helps combat the current air pollution in Hanoi, leaving no reason to hesitate,” Ms. Ly explained.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành shared a similar view, stating his desire to switch to an electric vehicle ahead of upcoming restrictions on gasoline vehicles in the city center.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành (Hanoi) plans to switch from his Honda Vision to an electric vehicle.

“In line with the new regulations, my wife and I want to switch to an electric vehicle for both convenience and environmental protection. Charging seems straightforward, so it’s not an issue,” Mr. Thành stated.

Mr. Nguyễn Nam An also upgraded to an electric vehicle for his daughter’s school commute. He chose the Evo Grand Lite model, designed for students with a top speed under 50 km/h. He and his wife thoroughly test-drove the vehicle before purchasing it for their child.

Many parents attended the event to select electric motorcycles for their children.

Beyond excellent performance and safety features, VinFast electric vehicles are praised for their lower operating costs compared to gasoline vehicles. This is particularly appealing to frequent travelers, delivery drivers, and those planning long-distance trips. Currently, VinFast electric motorcycles offer free charging until May 2027 at V-Green stations nationwide.

Many customers finalized their electric vehicle upgrades to take advantage of a 12% total discount (including a 10% vehicle price reduction and 100% registration fee waiver), along with attractive gifts from dealerships.
