Over the past few years, Suzuki has forged a close partnership with Toyota, particularly in logo swapping and cross-selling products across global markets. A prime example is the Suzuki Across in Europe, which was rebranded and redesigned from the Toyota RAV4. Specifically, the Suzuki Across was developed based on the Toyota Wildlander, a model exclusive to the Chinese market.

The Suzuki Across has been discontinued in the European market, and the name is now used for a completely different model in Seychelles, an island nation off the coast of East Africa. Interestingly, this new Across bears no relation to Toyota, unlike its predecessor.

If the design looks familiar, it’s because this Across is essentially a rebadged version of the Suzuki Victoris, which debuted in India in September 2025. The only notable exterior differences are the logo and the name on the tailgate. The most significant change is in the cabin, where the steering wheel has been moved to the left to cater to right-hand drive markets.

The vehicle also includes a kick-to-open tailgate sensor.

Suzuki aims to expand the Victoris, produced in India, to global markets. Therefore, introducing a left-hand drive version for export markets is a logical step.

Like its Indian counterpart, the Seychelles-bound Suzuki Across measures 4,360 mm in length with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. Compared to its European namesake, which had a length of 4,635 mm and a wheelbase of 2,690 mm, this model is significantly smaller.

The Suzuki Across falls within the B-segment SUV category.

It’s no secret that both the Victoris and Across are built on Suzuki’s Heartect platform. In fact, this platform underpins all Suzuki-developed models, including the Vitara and S-Cross.

In Seychelles, the Suzuki Across is offered with a naturally aspirated 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 102 hp and peak torque of 137 Nm. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The automatic variant can also be paired with an all-wheel-drive system.

Additionally, press release images reveal that the Seychelles-spec Suzuki Across features a “hybrid” badge. This suggests the possibility of a self-charging hybrid powertrain, similar to the Suzuki Victoris in India. This setup combines a 1.5L gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 114 hp. The hybrid system is paired with Suzuki’s AllGrip Select AWD system.

Suzuki has confirmed plans to export the India-made Victoris to over 100 countries and regions worldwide. However, it remains unclear whether Vietnam is included in this list.
