Recently, Hyundai has confirmed plans to launch the all-electric version of its Staria MPV, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global electrification strategy.

The new model is set to debut at the Brussels Motor Show, taking place from January 9 to 18, 2026.

The development of the Staria Electric is a strategic move, positioning Hyundai to enter the premium electric MPV and large passenger vehicle segments. This vehicle caters not only to families seeking spacious interiors but also to commercial transport companies and luxury shuttle service providers transitioning to eco-friendly solutions.

Speculations suggest the Hyundai Staria Electric will feature a 99 kWh battery pack. If accurate, this would set a new record for battery capacity within Hyundai’s global electric vehicle lineup, surpassing current mainstream electric models. The substantial battery is expected to alleviate range anxiety, a critical factor for long-distance family trips and continuous commercial operations.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the new electric MPV will incorporate an 800V electrical architecture, a technology already featured in its latest electric models like the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The 800V system enables high-power DC fast charging, significantly reducing charging times compared to traditional 400V setups. This enhancement also improves thermal management for both the battery and drivetrain. For a vehicle as large as the Staria Electric, fast-charging capability is essential to maintain practicality and operational efficiency in commercial service environments.

Currently, Hyundai’s electric vehicle portfolio spans from compact urban models like the INSTER to flagship SUVs such as the IONIQ 9. However, the electric MPV and large passenger vehicle segments remain untapped. The introduction of the Staria Electric not only fills this gap but also reinforces Hyundai’s leadership in zero-emission mobility, offering a sustainable transportation option for the global market.
