Ford has officially unveiled the most powerful iteration of its Everest lineup to date, marking a significant performance expansion for the body-on-frame SUV derived from the Ranger platform.
The standout feature of the 2026 Everest Tremor lies in its all-new powerhouse. Departing from conventional diesel options, Ford has equipped this model with a twin-turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 gasoline engine, delivering an impressive 350 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive, this setup surpasses the 3.0L V6 diesel variant available in Australia in terms of horsepower, though with a slight trade-off in torque.
Aesthetically, the 2026 Everest Tremor retains the rugged off-road design language characteristic of the global Tremor lineup. It features a specialized Bilstein suspension system and a 26 mm increased ground clearance, enhancing its off-road capabilities. Additional features such as the Rock Crawl driving mode for rugged terrain, 17-inch black-painted wheels, and General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires further emphasize its robust and adventurous spirit.
However, ownership of this most powerful Everest in history is not universally accessible. Ford has confirmed that the Tremor V6 is a limited-edition model, exclusively distributed in select markets with a preference for high-performance, large-displacement gasoline engines, notably in the Middle East. Alongside the Tremor, the 2026 Everest lineup in these regions continues to offer the Active, Sport, and Platinum variants, featuring updates similar to those in the Australian market, as all models are manufactured in Thailand.
The launch of the Everest Tremor V6 not only diversifies Ford’s product range but also underscores the brand’s ambition to explore niche segments within the body-on-frame SUV category. While there are no plans for a global rollout, the introduction of an Everest model with sports car-like performance solidifies Ford’s leadership in technological innovation and operational efficiency within the SUV market.
