Surpassing the most rigorous tests in Germany with hundreds of bullets and dozens of explosions, the Lac Hong 900 LX has officially joined the elite list of electric vehicles worldwide to meet the ballistic standards for heads of state.
A Mobile Fortress Meeting International Standards
Lac Hong 900 LX, developed from the VinFast VF 9 model, boasts impressive dimensions with a length exceeding 5.3 meters and an extended wheelbase of 3,349 mm. Its standout feature is the VPAM VR7 protection package—a stringent ballistic standard reserved for vehicles of heads of state.
To achieve this certification, the vehicle underwent independent testing at Beschussamt Ulm in Germany. Results confirmed that the Lac Hong 900 LX remained intact after enduring 440 rounds from NATO rifles (7.62 x 51 mm) and 11 grenade explosions (DM51) placed under and on top of the vehicle. Despite continuous attacks, the passenger compartment retained its integrity, emergency exits remained functional, and the vehicle retained sufficient mobility to escape the scene.
Integrated Security Technology from the Ground Up
Unlike conventional armored vehicles (which are typically commercial vehicles retrofitted with armor), the Lac Hong 900 LX was designed with integrated armor layers from the chassis production stage, in collaboration with renowned armoring firm INKAS and VinFast.
INKAS implemented a 360-degree armor structure. The body and shell utilize multi-layered steel, with meticulously calculated joints and welds to neutralize penetration risks. Door frames and locking mechanisms are reinforced to withstand impact shocks. Multi-layered ballistic glass is seamlessly sealed at the edges, while a partition behind the front seats acts as a secondary protective barrier for the VIP compartment.
Escape capabilities are prioritized. The vehicle features 275/55R19 run-flat tires, enabling travel up to 80–100 km even after being shot. Standard safety features include an automatic fire suppression system, oxygen supply, satellite phone, and emergency lights and sirens.
Powerful Performance and Luxurious Interior
Despite its heavy armor, the Lac Hong 900 LX delivers impressive performance with dual electric motors producing 455 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. Equipped with a 123 kWh battery, it offers a range of approximately 450 km on a single charge.
The interior is tailored for VIPs, featuring premium materials such as Golden Nanmu wood, genuine gold accents, and soundproof glass partitions, creating a luxurious and secure workspace.
