With just one month left to conclude 2025, the sales race in many vehicle segments has nearly reached its climax.

Significant gaps and clear consumer trends are helping numerous models establish a new order, almost securing their segment dominance.

Below are the best-selling models in each segment as of November 2025:

A-Segment: VinFast VF 3, Hyundai i10 (Internal Combustion Engine)

In the compact urban car segment, the VinFast VF 3 is creating a unique phenomenon. Although not strictly classified as an A-segment vehicle in terms of size or powertrain, this mini electric car has captured almost the entire customer base traditionally associated with small internal combustion engine cars. After 11 months, the VF 3 has achieved cumulative sales of 40,660 units, far surpassing the combined sales of all gasoline A-segment models.

Its price advantage, low operating costs, and strong brand presence make the VF 3 a popular choice among young first-time car buyers, as well as families seeking an additional flexible urban mobility solution.

In the gasoline segment, the Hyundai Grand i10 continues to lead with 2,977 units sold, significantly outpacing the Toyota Wigo (2,163 units) and Kia Morning (263 units). Thanks to stable supply and an extensive after-sales network, the Grand i10 is likely to maintain its top position in the gasoline A-segment for 2025.

B-Segment Sedan: Toyota Vios

The Toyota Vios continues to dominate as the “sales king” with 11,452 units sold after 11 months, maintaining a lead of over 2,000 units ahead of the Honda City (9,214 units). With limited time remaining in the year, a shift in rankings is highly unlikely, ensuring the Vios will likely retain its top position in the B-segment sedan category for 2025.

C-Segment Sedan: Mazda 3

Despite the shrinking market share of C-segment sedans, the Mazda 3 maintains its steady performance with 2,546 units sold, significantly ahead of the Kia K3 (1,489 units). Other models like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, and Toyota Corolla Altis primarily cater to niche customers, positioning the Mazda 3 as the strongest contender for segment leadership this year.

D-Segment Sedan: Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry continues to dominate the D-segment sedan category with cumulative 11-month sales of 2,090 units, significantly outperforming the Kia K5 and Mazda 6. While these numbers are insufficient to return the Camry to its golden era, they account for nearly 70% of the D-segment sedan market share. Currently, competitors in the same price range are also struggling to match its performance.

Compact MPV: Mitsubishi Xpander

The Mitsubishi Xpander achieved sales of 2,234 units in November. Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year, 17,316 Xpander units have been delivered to customers, making it the best-selling MPV in its segment.

With just one month left in 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander’s top position in the compact MPV segment may be challenged by the newcomer Limo Green. In just four months since its launch, VinFast’s electric MPV has accumulated sales of 16,146 units.

A-Segment CUV/SUV: VinFast VF 5, Kia Sonet (Internal Combustion Engine)

The VinFast VF 5 continues to lead the A-segment CUV/SUV category with cumulative sales of 38,478 units after 11 months. With its current growth trajectory, the VF 5 is highly likely to retain its top position in the A-segment SUV category for 2025. The vehicle is currently priced at 529 million VND, including the battery.

Meanwhile, the Kia Sonet remains the top choice in the gasoline segment of the same size, with nearly 4,800 units sold.

B-Segment CUV/SUV: VinFast VF 6, Toyota Yaris Cross (Internal Combustion Engine)

The VinFast VF 6 has recorded impressive growth with 19,750 units sold, surpassing the Mitsubishi Xforce (12,091 units) and Toyota Corolla Cross (8,169 units). The strong shift towards electric vehicles and technological advantages position the VF 6 as a leading contender for the top spot this year.

In the gasoline segment, the Toyota Yaris Cross is the best-selling model, achieving sales of 13,208 units in 11 months, making it Toyota Vietnam’s best-selling product in 2025. The vehicle is available in two variants, priced at 650 million VND and 765 million VND, respectively.

C-Segment SUV: Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 maintains its leading position in the C-segment CUV category with 14,666 units sold after 11 months. Its pricing and feature advantages help it maintain a safe distance ahead of the Ford Territory, solidifying its top position in the segment for several consecutive years.

D-Segment SUV: Ford Everest

The Ford Everest is the only model in the body-on-frame SUV segment to consistently achieve monthly sales above 1,000 units. With over 11,200 cumulative units sold after 11 months, the Everest dominates competitors like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-8 to lead the segment.

The Ford Everest demonstrates its dominance as the only model in the segment to achieve sales above 1,000 units in November. Cumulatively, Ford has sold 11,209 Everest units in 11 months, significantly outperforming the Mazda CX-8, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Barring any unexpected changes, the Everest is almost certain to continue dominating the D-segment SUV category this year.

Pickup Truck: Ford Ranger

The Ford Ranger continues to assert its dominance in the pickup truck segment. In November alone, the Ranger achieved sales of 2,040 units, bringing its total sales for the year to approximately 15,493 units, capturing over 80% of the market share. With its diverse lineup and strong brand presence, the Ranger remains the overwhelming choice compared to Japanese competitors.

The Intersection of Tradition and Future

Looking at the overall picture after 11 months, it’s clear that Vietnam’s 2025 automobile market stands at the crossroads of two eras. The strong rise of VinFast’s electric vehicles, particularly in popular and urban segments, shows that consumers are truly open and ready for the green mobility era. The record-breaking numbers of the VF 3 and VF 5 are not just sales victories but also evidence that electric vehicle infrastructure and ecosystems are gradually becoming part of everyday life.

However, the resilience of stalwarts like the Ford Ranger, Mazda CX-5, and Toyota Vios underscores another reality: Trust in core values, durability, and the versatility of internal combustion engines remains a hard-to-shake stronghold in higher segments. The kings of 2025 are gradually emerging, but the upcoming competition will no longer be solely about price or features; it will be a battle of energy technology and adaptability to increasingly demanding customer needs. As 2026 approaches, the throne may remain the same, but the rules of the game in the market have undoubtedly changed completely.
