A rare Ferrari 458 Italia, owned by a discreet car collector in Ho Chi Minh City, was recently spotted cruising the city’s streets. Known for his extensive collection, the owner has a particular fondness for Ferrari models.

While the exact purchase date remains unknown, this Ferrari 458 Italia has been in the collector’s garage for nearly six years. Originally owned by Cường “Đô-la” upon its arrival in Vietnam in 2011, the car was later sold to a friend, who showcased it at the Car Passion event that same year. Despite changing hands, the vehicle has retained its original license plate for over a decade.

After nearly six years with its current owner, the Ferrari 458 Italia recently received a luxurious upgrade: a four-nines license plate valued at 335 million VND, adding a touch of exclusivity to its already stunning appearance.

As the last Ferrari model to feature a naturally aspirated V8 engine, the 458 Italia holds a special place among Vietnamese car enthusiasts. A businessman from the Central Highlands has acquired nearly all available units in Vietnam, making the occasional sighting of this model on the streets a rare treat.

First unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 19, 2009, the Ferrari 458 Italia was designed as the successor to the F430. It was later replaced by the 488 GTB in 2015, paving the way for the F8 series to continue the legacy of Ferrari’s powerful V8 lineage.

In Ferrari’s initial announcement, the 458 Italia was described as a groundbreaking evolution of the F430, incorporating Formula 1-inspired technology. The vehicle’s advanced body computer system was developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli.

Powered by a 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, the Ferrari 458 Italia delivers an impressive 570 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 km/h.
