As we step into the early days of 2026, Vietnam’s automotive market is witnessing a wave of widespread promotions as car manufacturers roll out strategic “aces” to boost sales.
From covering 100% of registration fees, offering physical damage insurance, to direct discounts of hundreds of millions of dong, consumers are presented with an optimal opportunity to own a vehicle at the lowest rolling cost before the Lunar New Year.
Hyundai
This month’s market spotlight falls on Korean brands. Hyundai has made waves with a record-breaking promotion for the Santa Fe SUV, offering up to 220 million dong in discounts, with 2024 models enjoying even deeper discounts of 240 million dong.
Other models like the Accent, Creta, Tucson, Stargazer, and Palisade also feature significant discounts ranging from 50 to 200 million dong. Beyond pricing, Hyundai enhances its competitiveness with an extended warranty of up to 8 years or 120,000 km for its flagship models.
Kia
Kia joins the fray with a 90 million dong discount on the K5 sedan, bringing its post-discount price to around 759 million dong. The premium New Carnival Hybrid SUV also enjoys an 80 million dong discount, starting at just 1.539 billion dong after the promotion.
Toyota
Japanese brands, known for their price stability, are also aggressively joining the race. Toyota continues to heat up the market with its Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio MPVs by covering 100% of registration fees.
In cash terms, the Veloz Cross offers discounts of 64-66 million dong, reducing its actual price to 574-594 million dong. The Avanza Premio enjoys equivalent discounts of 56-60 million dong, bringing its actual price down to 502-538 million dong.
Honda
In January, Honda offers a substantial discount of nearly 100 million dong on the 2024 Civic e:HEV RS, lowering its actual price to 899 million dong.
For high-clearance vehicles, the CR-V G and L models both receive an 80 million dong discount, starting at just 949 million dong after the promotion.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Motors focuses its promotions on best-selling models. For the Xpander and Xpander Cross duo, all versions (except white) receive support equivalent to 100% of registration fees. The Xpander AT version also includes a fuel voucher and one year of physical damage insurance, bringing the total discount value to approximately 88 million dong.
The urban SUV Xforce is also deeply discounted. The Ultimate and GLX versions receive support equivalent to 100% of registration fees, saving customers around 60-70 million dong in rolling costs.
In the A-class sedan segment, the Attrage offers 100% registration fee support for all customers in January 2026. Buyers also receive an 8 million dong fuel voucher and a choice of a shark fin antenna or reverse camera. The total discount value for the Attrage reaches 58.5 million dong.
The All-New Triton pickup is also included in Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam’s Tet promotions, with a maximum support value of 76 million dong. The package includes 100% registration fee coverage and a fuel voucher worth 10-20 million dong, depending on the version.
Suzuki
Suzuki Fronx buyers in January enjoy official discounts of 30-60 million dong, depending on the version. After promotions, the Fronx’s actual price ranges from 490-614 million dong, significantly lower than competitors like the Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet, or Hyundai Venue.
Subaru
Subaru stands out with substantial support for the Forester and Crosstrek. The Forester offers gifts and support valued from 140 million to over 300 million dong, including registration fees, vehicle registration, multi-year insurance, free maintenance packages, and unlimited mileage warranties. After discounts, some Forester versions drop below 900 million dong.
The Crosstrek enjoys a direct discount of over 200 million dong, along with an extended warranty policy, including longer battery warranties for hybrid versions.
BYD
Among Chinese brands, BYD offers promotions for several models in early 2026. The Sealion 6 Dynamic receives a 41.95 million dong discount, along with valuable gifts like one year of physical damage insurance, a dashcam, a BYD wall charger, and a portable charger, bringing the total discount to nearly 100 million dong.
The 2024 Atto 3 Dynamic and Seal electric models enjoy discounts of 20 million and 30 million dong, respectively. Buyers also receive valuable gifts like the BYD App worth nearly 15 million dong, one year of physical damage insurance worth 13.5 million dong, and a 5 million dong free charging voucher.
Mercedes-Benz
In the luxury segment, Mercedes-Benz offers a 55 million dong discount on the C-Class, while the E-Class and GLC receive up to 66 million dong in support.

For the Ford Ranger pickup, the Stormtrak version offers a dual promotion: 100% registration fee coverage and one year of physical damage insurance, totaling up to 77 million dong, or customers can opt for a 75 million dong cash discount. The Ranger Wildtrak, Raptor, and XLS versions receive 100% registration fee support, while the Ranger XL gets 50% support.
This wave of simultaneous promotions indicates manufacturers’ efforts to clear 2024 inventory and set the stage for 2026 sales targets. For consumers, this is a golden opportunity to purchase vehicles at the lowest rolling costs in months, combined with extended warranty and maintenance packages.
