Nissan has officially unveiled the latest upgrade for its iconic Z sports car, marking the first significant refinement since the RZ34 generation debuted globally in 2022.
With this update, the Japanese automaker shifts focus from raw power to enhancing visual appeal, refining the cabin, and optimizing technical systems for a more authentic and agile driving experience in real-world conditions.
The front fascia now boasts a sharper, more angular design, inspired by the high-performance Z NISMO variant and incorporating the legendary “G-nose” styling from classic Z models. This redesign extends the overall length by 30 mm while improving aerodynamics, reducing front lift by 3.3% and drag by 1%. Complementing this sporty aesthetic are new alloy wheels and the optional Unryu Green paint—a nod to the iconic shade first seen on the original Z S30, seamlessly blending heritage with modernity.
Inside, the 2026 Nissan Z introduces a premium Tan Two-Tone interior, elevating sophistication and creating an emotional contrast to its muscular predecessors. These subtle yet refined material and color upgrades signal Nissan’s intent to appeal to drivers seeking both performance and luxury in their daily drive.
Technically, the focus is on suspension enhancements for improved chassis control. While retaining monotube dampers, the piston diameter has expanded from 40 mm to 45 mm. Nissan engineers confirm this boosts road grip and ride comfort across diverse terrains, ensuring the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Z remains a pure sports car while becoming more urban-friendly.
Under the hood, the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 (VR30DDTT) engine delivers 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque, unchanged from before. This decision underscores Nissan’s philosophy of prioritizing balance and real-world drivability over horsepower wars. With these strategic updates, the 2026 Z transcends being merely a speed machine, embodying Nissan’s commitment to preserving the sports car legacy while offering a practical yet distinctive choice for Japanese car enthusiasts.
