Vietnam’s automotive market witnessed an unprecedented surge from Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam in the final month of 2025.

According to the latest data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), the Japanese brand set a record-breaking milestone by delivering 8,960 vehicles to customers in December alone. This marks the highest monthly sales figure in the company’s 31-year presence in Vietnam. This remarkable achievement also positioned Mitsubishi as the top-selling internal combustion engine (ICE) brand for the month.

December 2025 also marked a historic precedent, as Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam had three models simultaneously featured in the top 5 best-selling ICE vehicles: the Xpander, Xforce, and Destinator. This success underscores the brand’s well-executed product development strategy and its strong presence across key market segments. Mitsubishi’s vehicles are increasingly favored by Vietnamese consumers for their harmonious blend of safety, durability, and modern amenities, catering to diverse customer needs.

Destinator: The Newcomer Shaking Up Sales

In its debut month, the 7-seater Destinator SUV made a seismic impact, immediately entering the top 5 best-selling ICE vehicles. With 2,377 units sold shortly after its early December launch, the Destinator became Mitsubishi’s fastest and highest-selling model from inception in Vietnam. This newcomer’s appeal highlights consumers’ strong confidence in Mitsubishi’s latest offerings.

Xforce Peaks and Secures Market Leadership

The Xforce B-SUV had a stellar December, achieving a record-breaking 3,163 sales and claiming the top spot in the ICE vehicle market. This marks the first time the model surpassed the 3,000 monthly sales threshold since its launch nearly two years ago. Additionally, the Xforce achieved a “double victory” by maintaining its B-SUV segment leadership for two consecutive years (2024–2025) and ranking among the top 4 best-selling ICE vehicles nationwide last year.

Xpander: 7 Years of MPV Dominance

Despite market fluctuations and new competitors, the Xpander remains an unshakable leader. Closing December with 2,575 sales and an annual total of 19,891, the Xpander led ICE vehicle sales for the third consecutive year. Notably, it has dominated the B-segment MPV category for seven straight years, cementing its status as a beloved favorite in Vietnam.

A Triumphant Year After Three Decades

Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam’s relentless efforts in product and service innovation paid off in 2025. With a cumulative sales total of 44,107 units, the company set a new annual sales record in its 31-year history. This achievement not only solidifies Mitsubishi’s market position but also provides crucial momentum for the brand to conquer new heights as the automotive industry evolves.
