Mid-Size Sedan Sales in December 2025 (Unit: Cars)

Toyota Camry: 399 Units

In December 2025, the Toyota Camry surged ahead with impressive sales of 399 units. Compared to the previous month, its sales grew by 58.3%, the highest in its segment. The cumulative sales for 2025 reached 2,489 units, solidifying the Camry’s position as the top choice in Vietnam’s mid-size sedan market.

Toyota Camry

This success can be attributed to Toyota Vietnam’s aggressive year-end promotions, offering discounts of up to 150 million VND. Additionally, the Camry’s youthful design, enhanced features, reputable brand, proven durability, and strong resale value in Vietnam further boosted its appeal.

The Toyota Camry is available in four variants in Vietnam, priced between 1.22 and 1.53 billion VND. Starting in 2026, the top-tier hybrid variant will benefit from a 70 million VND tax reduction, lowering its price to 1.46 billion VND and increasing its accessibility to Vietnamese customers.

The Camry offers two powertrain options. The first is a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 170 hp and 206 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The second is a hybrid system featuring a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 184 hp and 221 Nm, combined with a 100 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery.

Kia K5: 35 Units

The Kia K5 saw a modest 6% sales increase in December 2025 compared to November, but its actual sales remained low at just 35 units. Consequently, the K5 continues to rank among the slowest-selling cars in Vietnam, with 2025 cumulative sales of only 267 units.

Kia K5

Priced significantly lower than the Toyota Camry, ranging from 849 to 957 million VND, the Kia K5 has also benefited from recent discounts of up to 90 million VND. However, these incentives have yet to significantly boost its sales.

Beyond its affordability, the Kia K5 boasts a youthful, sporty design and a well-equipped interior. Notable features include LED lighting, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, power-adjustable passenger seat, HUD, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen, 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, remote start, and wireless charging.

The Kia K5 is powered by two engine options. The first is a 2.0L four-cylinder engine delivering 150 hp and 192 Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The second is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine producing 191 hp and 246 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Honda Accord: 2 Units

The Honda Accord remained at the bottom of the mid-size sedan segment in December 2025, selling only 2 units—a 75% decline. Its 2025 cumulative sales totaled just 42 units.

Honda Accord

Over the past few years, the Honda Accord has consistently struggled with poor sales. As a result, Honda Vietnam has decided to discontinue the model in the Vietnamese market. The Accord has been quietly removed from Honda Vietnam’s product lineup.

According to Honda Vietnam, all remaining inventory of the previous-generation Accord has been sold. The company has no plans to introduce the new generation of this mid-size sedan to Vietnam.

Several factors contributed to the Accord’s weak performance in Vietnam. Firstly, its high starting price of 1.319 billion VND and limited variant options deterred buyers. Secondly, the lack of updates to its design and features in recent years diminished its appeal. Additionally, shifting consumer preferences in Vietnam toward SUVs, pickup trucks, and MPVs further marginalized the sedan segment.

With the discontinuation of the Honda Accord, following the Mazda6, Vietnam’s mid-size sedan segment now offers only two options: the Toyota Camry and the Kia K5.
