Similar to other car segments in Vietnam, the C-class sedan segment also experienced fairly even growth across models in December 2025, except for the Toyota Corolla Altis. The ranking of C-class sedan models by sales remained unchanged compared to previous periods.

C-class Sedan Sales in December 2025 (units: cars)

Mazda3: 423 Units

In December 2025, Vietnamese consumers purchased 423 Mazda3 units, marking a 30.1% growth. Meanwhile, the cumulative sales of the Mazda3 for the entire year of 2025 reached 2,969 units, a 40.1% decline compared to 2024 (4,958 units).

Mazda3

Despite a significant drop compared to the previous year, the Mazda3 remains the top choice in the C-class sedan segment in Vietnam. The decline is not surprising, as C-class sedans have lost favor among Vietnamese consumers, who are increasingly opting for high-clearance vehicles.

The Mazda3 is highly regarded for its design and features. Its price range is also very attractive, starting from 599 to 719 million VND. Additionally, frequent discount programs from the distributor THACO make the Mazda3 even more appealing to Vietnamese consumers.

Under the hood, the Mazda3 is powered by a SkyActiv-G 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 110 horsepower and a peak torque of 146 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and an advanced GVC Plus acceleration control system.

Kia K3: 193 Units

The Kia K3 once again secured the second position in the C-class sedan segment in terms of sales. It sold 193 units in December 2025, a 16.9% increase compared to the previous month. The cumulative sales for the entire year of 2025 reached 1,682 units, a 53.3% decline compared to 2024 (3,603 units).

Kia K3

The Kia K3 was once the best-selling C-class sedan in Vietnam. Unfortunately, it has lost its edge in recent years, partly due to unchanged design and features, as well as shifting consumer preferences.

The Kia K3 offers a budget-friendly price range, starting from 549 to 714 million VND, an eye-catching design, and adequate features. However, it still lacks advanced active safety features (ADAS).

The Kia K3 is available in Vietnam with three engine options: a 1.6L gasoline engine, a 2.0L gasoline engine, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine. These engines produce 126 horsepower/155 Nm, 150 horsepower/192 Nm, and 201 horsepower/265 Nm, respectively. They are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Honda Civic: 90 Units

In December 2025, the Honda Civic also saw a sales increase compared to the previous month, selling 90 units, a 16.8% growth. This brought the cumulative sales for the entire year of 2025 to 767 units, a 32% decline compared to 2024.

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic maintains steady sales in Vietnam despite its less attractive price range, starting from 789 to 999 million VND. This is due to its sporty design, rich features, standard advanced active safety features (ADAS), and highly rated driving experience in its segment.

When purchasing a Honda Civic, Vietnamese consumers can choose between two engine options. The first is a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 176 horsepower and a peak torque of 240 Nm. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The second option is a new hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and an E-CVT automatic transmission integrated with a generator motor, delivering a total output of 200 horsepower.

Hyundai Elantra: 74 Units

The Hyundai Elantra recorded the highest sales growth rate in the C-class sedan segment in December 2025, selling 74 units, a 42.3% increase. However, its cumulative sales for the entire year of 2025 were modest, reaching only 665 units, a 63.9% decline compared to 2024 (1,845 units).

Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra offers several advantages, including a budget-friendly price range starting from 579 to 769 million VND, a sharp and distinctive design, and adequate features. Its engine options are similar to the Kia K3, including a 1.6L Gamma II gasoline engine, a 2.0L Nu gasoline engine, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine. These engines deliver maximum power ranging from 128 to 204 horsepower and peak torque from 155 to 265 Nm.

Toyota Corolla Altis: 28 Units

Ranking last in the C-class sedan segment in December 2025 was the Toyota Corolla Altis, with only 28 units sold, a 6.6% decline. It was the only model in this segment to sell fewer units than in November 2025, landing it in the top 10 least-selling cars in the Vietnamese market. The cumulative sales for the entire year of 2025 were also modest, declining 41.3% compared to 2024 to 285 units.

Toyota Corolla Altis

Like the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla Altis does not have a price advantage, ranging from 725 to 870 million VND. Additionally, the lack of significant design and feature upgrades in recent years has diminished its appeal.

The Toyota Corolla Altis is powered by two engine options. The first is a 1.8L four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 138 horsepower and a peak torque of 172 Nm. The second is a hybrid powertrain, combining the same gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a total output of 122 horsepower. Both options are paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
