After completing stage 5 of ARRC 2019 in China, Honda Racing Vietnam wasted no time in preparing for the final stage of the season. This final stage also marked an emotional return to the Sepang race track in Malaysia, where the opening race of ARRC 2019 took place.

Malaysia has a long history of racing and is currently the leading country for sports racing in Southeast Asia. Sepang is considered the racing “Mecca” of Southeast Asia.

Rider Cao Viet Nam in stage 1

Honda Racing Vietnam took their first steps as an independent international racing team at Sepang in the first stage of ARRC 2019. Returning to this track held special meaning for the team.

In the first stage at Sepang, the team made a strong impression. In the UB150 category, the model designed by Honda Racing Vietnam performed well, with emotional moments from Le Khanh Loc and Nguyen Vu Thanh. In the AP250 category, Cao Viet Nam had a successful opening race for ARRC 2019, earning 10 points. This is currently his highest achievement in the 5 stages of ARRC 2019. Can the team make an even bigger impression this time? It’s possible if Honda Racing Vietnam competes at their best.

Rider Nguyen Vu Thanh in stage 1 of ARRC 2019

There have been changes in the UB150 category since the opening race. Rider Nguyen Duc Thanh replaced the injured Le Khanh Loc. This will be Nguyen Duc Thanh’s third international race. He is familiar with the race atmosphere, bike operation, and team activities. Meanwhile, Nguyen Vu Thanh returns to racing at Sepang after a year of recovering from an injury. In stage 1, he struggled to find his riding feeling, but after 5 stages, Vu Thanh has started to regain his form. He is eager to show his progress at Sepang.

For Cao Viet Nam in the AP250 category, Sepang is one of his favorite race tracks. He aims to surpass the 10-point mark he achieved there. His performance has shown some signs of slowing down since his ban from racing in stage 4 in Japan. Returning to stage 5 in China, he could not perform at his best. Hopefully, in stage 6, Cao Viet Nam will regain his impressive form. In August, he finished second on the podium in both races of the TTC 2019 stage 5. Therefore, his racing feeling is still in good condition.

To prepare for stage 6 at Sepang, all 3 riders and the Honda Racing Vietnam team have been training vigorously at the Dai Nam race track. Rider Nguyen Duc Thanh even achieved first place in the Blade 110 category of the VMRC 2019 race on September 15, 2019.

Sepang is known for challenging the technical skills of riders and the power of their bikes. It’s the place where Valentino Rossi made history with his kick that knocked Marc Marquez out of the MotoGP 2015 championship. In stage 6 of ARRC 2019, a large number of Malaysian riders will also participate, adding pressure on the Vietnamese riders.

Cao Viet Nam taking a turn

Currently, the team has earned 1 point in the UB150 category, achieved by Nguyen Vu Thanh in Japan. In the AP250 category, Cao Viet Nam has 32 points, ranking 16th out of 36 riders, tied with the 15th place rider. Honda Racing Vietnam is currently 8th out of 20 teams in the standings.

The goal for the UB150 riders is to earn more points, while Cao Viet Nam aims to surpass the 10-point mark. The progress of the Duc Thanh – Vu Thanh pair will be crucial in achieving these goals. As long as Cao Viet Nam competes at his best, the set goals are within reach.

The Honda Racing Vietnam team is ready to give their all in stage 6 of ARRC 2019, representing Vietnam in the top motorcycle race in the region.
