Unveiled: Revealing the US-spec 2024 Kia Carnival

At the upcoming LA Auto Show 2023, Kia has confirmed that it will unveil the facelifted version of the Sorento model. However, there is no mention of the facelifted Carnival model. However, the ShortsCar channel recently shared clear images of the 2024 Kia Carnival US version during a test drive, indicating that the launch of this car for US users is imminent.

In the Korean market, the upgraded Kia Carnival receives updates both inside and out. Starting from the exterior, the MPV model adopts the new Opposites United design language, which combines sophistication and strength like an SUV. The notable changes are centered around the front of the car, where the Carnival now features a larger grille and a refined front bumper. These changes are complemented by new vertically-designed headlights and “Star Map” daytime running lights.

Moving to the rear, the tail of the 2024 Carnival appears smoother with the absence of a trunk handle. Another noticeable change is the relocation of the Kia logo lower, no longer serving as a divider for the LED strips. The reflector lights mounted on the rear bumper also appear slimmer than before.

Customers looking for a more unique car can opt for the new Gravity package, which features dark accents and exclusive 19-inch black wheels.

Inside the cabin, further changes can be seen, including a slightly refined dashboard and a floating panoramic screen. This curved screen combines a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Additionally, the center control cluster has been modified.

Kia highlights that the 2024 Carnival offers an improved interior ambient lighting system, fingerprint recognition technology, and a UV-C sterilization box on the central control panel. Other notable features include an 11-inch HUD, Ergo Motion driver’s seat, and a modernized infotainment system that supports over-the-air updates.

In terms of technology, this MPV model is equipped with several driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Collision Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist Level 2. It also features Auto headlamps, Safe exit assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Under the hood, the new 1.6L turbocharged hybrid powertrain delivers a combined power output of 242 horsepower and a maximum torque of 367 Nm.

Customers can also choose from the familiar 2.2L diesel engine and 3.5L V6 gasoline engine. Other announced changes include improved suspension for a smoother ride and additional sound insulation materials for a quieter cabin.

In the Korean market, the 2024 Kia Carnival starts at 34.7 million won (USD 26,601).
