This is MotorTrend’s annual list, which evaluates influential individuals attracting the attention of the public and media in the global automotive industry. This year, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong – CEO of VinFast – is one of the new faces, alongside other famous figures such as the Chairman of the United Automobile Workers, the Chairman of Hyundai Motor, and the Chairman of BYD… It is noteworthy that Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong holds a higher position than Elon Musk of Tesla.

MotorTrend states that Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong took over as the CEO of VinFast at a time when VinFast is ramping up electric vehicle production, introducing a new concept pickup truck, being listed on the US stock exchange, and expanding aggressively in international markets.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is also the leader of Vingroup, the parent company of VinFast. Vingroup is the largest conglomerate in Vietnam with leading market enterprises in many fields including industry, technology, real estate, and services. Businessman Pham Nhat Vuong is also the first Vietnamese billionaire to be listed in Forbes’ list of global billionaires in 2013.

In the US market, at the beginning of 2024, VinFast officially announced partnerships with 5 first dealers in 4 states, bringing the opportunity to experience VinFast electric cars to American customers. The dealerships will start selling the VF 8 model, followed by VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9 as soon as these models are launched in the US.

All customers buying or leasing VinFast electric cars will be eligible for the genuine after-sales policy, including a 10-year/125,000-mile warranty for the vehicle and a 10-year unlimited mile warranty for the battery.

VinFast plans to expand its distribution network for VinFast electric vehicles to 125 sales points nationwide in the US. In addition to expanding the dealership system, VinFast is also operating 13 retail stores and service centers in California.
