In April 2024, the THACO distributor launched a price incentive program for a range of Mazda models such as the Mazda2, CX-3, Mazda6 and CX-30. However, in May 2024, when the incentive programs ended, the prices of these Mazda models increased again.

Specifically, the price of the Mazda2 Sedan now ranges from 430 – 534 million VND. The previous starting price of 420 million VND is no longer applicable to this B-segment sedan. Meanwhile, the Mazda2 Sport is priced from 527 – 572 million VND for the 2 versions.

For the Mazda6, in April 2024, this D-segment sedan was offered a 15 million VND discount. The current selling price of the car ranges from 769 – 899 million VND. However, with this price, the Mazda6 is still the cheapest D-segment sedan in the Vietnamese market.

Next is the Mazda CX-3, with a selling price ranging from 539 – 664 million VND for 4 versions. In April 2024, this B-segment SUV was offered a starting price of 529 million VND. With this selling price, the Mazda CX-3 is currently one of the cheapest B-segment SUVs in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the CX-3’s sibling, the Mazda CX-30, is priced from 699 – 749 million VND for the 2 versions. The promotional price of this model in April was from 679 million VND for the standard version.

The Mazda CX-5 alone still maintains its promotional price of 749 – 979 million VND. Compared to the previous listed price, this C-segment SUV is cheaper by 10 – 20 million VND, depending on the version. The promotional price not only helps the Mazda CX-5 to threaten its rivals in the same segment such as the Ford Territory, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V, but it can also “steal customers” from cars in the lower segment. The standard version of the Mazda CX-5 is currently only 10 million VND more expensive than the high-end version of the Kia Seltos (739 million VND) and cheaper than the Toyota Yaris Cross (765 million VND) or the Honda HR-V (871 million VND).

Price list of some Mazda models in May 2024 (unit: VND)

The remaining models of the Mazda brand such as the Mazda3 and CX-8 have not had their prices adjusted. The price of the Mazda3 Sedan ranges from 579 – 739 million VND, while the corresponding figure for the Mazda3 Sport is from 639 – 679 million VND. The Mazda CX-8 is priced from 949 million to 1.129 billion VND for the 3 versions.

In addition, the BT-50 pickup truck has disappeared from Mazda’s price list. It is not yet clear why the BT-50 is no longer listed in Mazda’s product catalog. Some say that the model has been “phased out” in the Vietnamese market because sales have not met expectations. Others hope that this is only a temporary disappearance, waiting for the release of the new Mazda BT-50.

In the past few months, the Mazda BT-50 has not had any sales in Vietnam. Specifically, in January 2024, the model had very modest sales, with only 5 units sold. In the following 2 months, the model did not sell any units. Therefore, it would not be surprising if the model is actually discontinued in Vietnam.

Mazda is currently one of the most popular car brands in Vietnam. In March 2024, Mazda sold a total of 2,350 cars to Vietnamese people, an increase of 73.4% compared to the previous month. In the first quarter of 2024, Vietnamese people bought a total of 5,677 Mazda cars. The Mazda CX-5 and Mazda3 models contributed greatly to this result.
