Ferrari has been impressing fans lately with the release of models that combine traditional style with modern technology and amenities to meet the growing demands of the affluent. The newly unveiled model is a prime example. The Ferrari 12Cilindri was created to replace its predecessor, the Ferrari 812.

As the name suggests, the Ferrari 12Cilindri is powered by an improved 6.5-liter V12 engine. This engine was first used in the “in-house” Enzo model two decades ago. The new V12 engine delivers a massive 819 horsepower and 678 Nm of torque. Notably, this engine does not feature hybrid technology, as the Italian supercar manufacturer has met emissions standards without the need for electrification.

The 6.5L V12 engine in the Ferrari 12Cilindri is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which the manufacturer claims can shift gears 30% faster than the transmission in the 812 model – despite the latter being one of the fastest-shifting vehicles currently available. As a result, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 340 km/h. The Spider version accelerates slightly slower, but still manages to do so in just 2.95 seconds.

In terms of dimensions, the 12Cilindri is slightly larger than the 812 Superfast in most parameters, although the wheelbase is 25.4 mm shorter. The car’s design is a combination of elements from several previous models by the Prancing Horse brand, with the front end resembling the Ferrari Daytona and the headlights reminiscent of the Roma. The rear combines styling cues from both the Roma and the 812 Competizione.

The interior is where Ferrari’s “transformation” is most evident in this new supercar. Instead of the traditional abundance of buttons and lack of an entertainment screen, the Italian automaker has equipped the vehicle with a central infotainment screen and a smaller display on the dashboard for the front passenger. The design of the 12Cilindri is said to be inspired by the Ferrari Purosangue super-SUV.

The “Prancing Horse” is equipped with all of Ferrari’s latest advanced chassis control systems, including Side Slip Control 8, which is designed to calculate tire grip levels more quickly. It also features an intelligent independent four-wheel steering system, capable of steering the rear wheels in the opposite direction. Standard wheel sizes have also been increased from 20 to 21 inches.

Ferrari reports that the dry weight of the 12Cilindri is 1568.9 kg for the hardtop (Coupe) version and 1619.8 kg for the convertible (Spider) version. Additionally, the 12Cilindri boasts a 15% stiffer structure compared to the 812.

The price tag for the Ferrari 12Cilindri is not cheap. The Coupe starts at $423,000 (equivalent to approximately 10.75 billion VND at the current exchange rate). The convertible (Spider) version is priced higher at $466,000 (equivalent to 11.84 billion VND). Thus, if it were to be imported into Vietnam, the after-tax price of this supercar would be no less than 40 billion VND.
