BYD has unveiled images of its upcoming hybrid pickup truck, specifically designed for international markets. According to CarnewsChina, the vehicle is similar in size to the Toyota Hilux and is slated for launch in Australia and South Africa first.
Previously, BYD’s pickup truck has been spotted in China, with a right-hand drive version tailored for the domestic market. However, the company has not yet decided on a launch for Chinese customers, as pickup trucks are not as popular in the local market.
Sources indicate that BYD will focus on distributing this model in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.

The new pickup truck features a striking blue and orange camouflage pattern, with distinctive 8-shaped headlights. Its large size is complemented by a high bonnet, prominent wheel arches, and sharp body lines. The vehicle’s hybrid nature is evident from the fuel filler cap on the left mudguard and the charging port on the right.
The truck’s bed is connected to the body via an independent rear suspension. However, the fixed divider suggests that the bed size cannot be expanded.
BYD’s hybrid pickup truck is expected to offer a combined range of approximately 1,000 kilometers, with an all-electric range of around 100 kilometers per charge. The specific engine details of the hybrid system are yet to be revealed.
The company is likely to showcase this model at the Beijing Auto Show later in April, providing a more detailed look at its design and engine specifications.
