The Gumball 3000 rally this year presented a rare opportunity for car enthusiasts in the country to feast their eyes on a diverse range of vehicles, from hypercars and megacars to modified and limited-edition supercars that may not make their way to Vietnam for a long time, if ever.
One such car that joined the 2024 Gumball 3000 supercar rally was the Ferrari 812 Competizione, a very special prancing horse that doesn’t seem to be on the radar of local enthusiasts, collectors, or the ultra-wealthy to bring home.
Firstly, the Ferrari 812 Competizione is a limited-edition model, with only 999 units produced. While Ferrari is quite generous in approving purchases of this model, they have already found all 999 customers, including some dealerships who will resell the car at a premium price.
Not only is it a limited-edition supercar, but the Ferrari 812 Competizione that briefly appeared in Vietnam during the Gumball 3000 event also boasts a naturally aspirated V12 engine, a favorite among Ferrari enthusiasts, with a displacement of 6.5 liters.
To be specific, the Ferrari 812 Competizione is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine that generates a maximum output of 818 horsepower and a peak torque of 692 Nm.
The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the Ferrari 812 Competizione to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h.
In terms of design, the Ferrari 812 Competizione features a new front bumper, squared-off side air vents with carbon fiber options, new side skirts, a redesigned rear diffuser, and a unique engine cover without a glass option.
