Bentley has revealed details about its first-ever electric car, marking a historic moment for the brand.

The vehicle will be a compact urban SUV with a length of under 5 meters and is expected to launch in late 2026.

This new SUV will be an entirely standalone model, not a electrified variant of the Bentayga – Bentley’s current SUV offering. With its compact size, the new electric SUV targets urban customers who appreciate a blend of performance and sustainability.

The sketch reveals a design that embodies the quintessential Bentley style, reminiscent of the EXP 15 concept previously showcased. While technical details remain undisclosed, Bentley assures that this vehicle inaugurates an era of accelerated electrification while preserving the brand’s luxurious essence.

As Bentley phases out its 6.0L W12 engine in 2024, the brand is strategically transitioning its product portfolio. Currently, models like the Flying Spur and Continental GT have embraced hybrid technology with a V8 powertrain, while the Bentayga continues to offer traditional hybrid options with V6 and V8 engines.

Notably, Bentley has adjusted its timeline for full electrification from 2030 to 2035. The company emphasizes the importance of hybrid technology during this transitional phase, given the evolving emissions regulations and market dynamics.

Bentley is committed to introducing a new hybrid or electric model each year between 2027 and 2035. This well-defined roadmap showcases the brand’s dedication to a sustainable future while preserving the luxurious experiences synonymous with the Bentley name.
