Recently, images of a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS being towed by a recovery vehicle in Ho Chi Minh City have captured the attention of car enthusiasts. This high-performance variant rivals the street-legal Porsche 911 GT3 992.1 in terms of power and performance.
As of now, no Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been officially imported into Vietnam. Therefore, the appearance of a vehicle resembling this street racing edition quickly drew attention. However, it’s important to note that this particular model features a custom body kit modification.

Upon investigation, this Porsche 718 Cayman, equipped with a GT4 RS body kit, was recently sold by a Hanoi showroom to a customer in Ho Chi Minh City. The vehicle’s black exterior complements the GT4 RS body kit, featuring prominent front and rear spoilers.
For those curious about the genuine Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, Porsche has revealed impressive performance metrics. The vehicle completed a lap at the Nürburgring racetrack in just 7:04.511 minutes, outperforming the 718 GT4 by 23.6 seconds.
To achieve such remarkable performance, the German automaker equipped the 718 Cayman GT4 RS with a naturally aspirated 4.0L 6-cylinder engine from the latest Porsche 911 GT3. This engine boasts a staggering 9,000 RPM redline. After tuning, it delivers 500 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, slightly less than the 911 GT3’s 510 horsepower and 470 Nm.

Despite this, the GT4 RS still outperforms the standard Cayman GT4 by 80 horsepower and 30 Nm, achieving a top speed of 315 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds. In comparison, the Cayman GT4 with PDK transmission reaches 302 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The GT4 RS is exclusively available with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, featuring shorter gear ratios, and does not offer a manual transmission option.
The standard Porsche Cayman sports car is powered by a 2.7L inline 6-cylinder engine, producing up to 275 horsepower. Depending on whether it’s paired with a 6-speed manual or PDK dual-clutch transmission, the Cayman accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 or 5.7 seconds, respectively.
