In December 2022, Toyota gave us a preview of the second-generation C-HR by introducing the Prologue concept, and now the Japanese automaker has unveiled the commercial version of the new C-HR. The car applies a significantly different design language that does not detract from the attractive appearance of its predecessor, which has proven to be very appealing in the crowded small crossover segment.

We have known beforehand that the 2024 C-HR has a “super coupe” shape and 20-inch wheels with a two-tone paint scheme. The front of the car features a bold design with sharp C-shaped LED headlights.

The sides of the car have received exquisite refinements with sharp lines and triangular folds. It is important to note the conventional design of the wheels and traditional side mirrors instead of small cameras. In addition, the car also has flat door handles that are integrated into the body.

At the rear, we can see wider taillights and a sporty spoiler on the roof.

In terms of dimensions, the all-new C-HR measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,564 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. The car is developed on the TNGA-C platform, which is also used by the Corolla, Corolla Cross, and all-new Innova Zenix.

Moving inside the cabin, users will be greeted by a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with voice control, Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto support.

Higher-end versions will receive a heads-up display, a 64-color ambient lighting system, a panoramic sunroof, and a JBL sound system. The GR Sport Premiere Edition will have red highlights and GR badges inside the interior, emphasizing the sporty beauty.

The new C-HR is expected to be available exclusively in Europe with hybrid engines. The 1.8L and 2.0L plug-in hybrid powertrains will only be available with front-wheel drive, while the 2.0L hybrid powertrain will have the option for an AWD system. In terms of power, the base 1.8L engine delivers a combined output of 140 horsepower, followed by the 2.0L engine with 198 horsepower, and the powerful 223 horsepower PHEV powertrain.

In terms of performance, the base hybrid 1.8L version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 170 km/h. The 2.0L FWD version takes 8.1 seconds to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint, or 7.9 seconds if you choose the AWD system. For the PHEV variant, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. With this variant, the car can travel 66 km in pure electric mode.

In terms of safety equipment, all variants of the C-HR come with the latest Toyota Safety Sense. Notably, owners can also control the C-HR through the MyToyota app, which allows remote control of features such as air conditioning or parking.
