Last year, Galaxy, a sub-brand of the Geel group, officially launched the L6 sedan in the Chinese market. Many sources now suggest that Geely will soon bring the Galaxy L6 to Vietnam for official distribution.
Recently, the Chinese automaker refreshed the image of the Galaxy L6 by introducing a new color called “Star Red”. This idea was conceived to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, a symbol of luck and power in China. It also offers new options for customers.
In addition to the new paint job, the Geely Galaxy L6 Year of the Dragon edition remains unchanged compared to the previously released version.
The Geely Galaxy L6 is positioned as a compact sedan with prices ranging from 115,800 yuan to 149,800 yuan (equivalent to 377 million to 488 million VND). The car is built on the e-CMA architecture and will be equipped with the Thor Electric Hybrid 8848 plug-in hybrid system.
The front of the car features a closed grille design, split lighting groups, and continuous light strips, creating a more advanced visual effect. The addition of vertical light groups on both sides also enhances the visual hierarchy. Of course, the new brand logo shape also adds freshness to the visual design.
From the side, the new car has a fastback shape and is equipped with hidden door handles and low wind-resistant wheels. The dimensions of the car are as follows: length, width, and height are 4782/1875/1489mm, the wheelbase is 2752mm, and the drag coefficient is 0.26Cd. At the rear, the addition of transparent taillights and large-size diffuser shapes not only enhances the visual hierarchy but also significantly improves the sporty feel.
Inside, the car features a wrap-around cockpit design, a narrow 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, and a 13.2-inch vertical central control screen, providing a tech-forward feel. The Geely Galaxy L6 will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and the Galaxy N operating system.
It will also be the first car to be equipped with Geely’s map positioning feature and support for traffic light countdown reminders. In addition, the new car will have an AI creative-wake-up screen and voice interaction feature based on AI smart language search outside the car.
The noteworthy feature of the new car’s seats is the soft 270° surround design, combined with the double-arc panoramic roof, 256-color interior ambient lighting system, intelligent fragrance system, personalized cockpit configuration, providing a comfortable and immersive experience. In terms of configuration, the Galaxy L6 offers 50W wireless charging for mobile phones, independent dual-zone smart air conditioning, global OTA upgrade, remote control via mobile app, intelligent voice interaction, two-tone color zone, and L2 driving assistance.
The powertrain of the Galaxy L6 will come from a hybrid powertrain consisting of a gasoline engine and dual P1+P2 electric motors and a 3-speed DHT Pro transmission. The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine in the Geely Galaxy L6 will produce a maximum power of 163 horsepower and a maximum torque of 225 Nm, while the electric motor will have a maximum power of 145 horsepower and a maximum torque of 338 Nm.
Therefore, the comprehensive maximum power of this hybrid system will reach 390 horsepower and a maximum torque of 535 Nm. The Geely Galaxy L6 takes 6.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, has a pure electric range of 125 km according to China’s CLTC testing cycle, fuel consumption of 4.55 liters/100 km, and a comprehensive operating range of 1,370 km.
