Suzuki is expanding its SUV range with the introduction of the all-new Fronx, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi, India. The Fronx features a sportier design based on the Baleno model and incorporates design elements from the larger Grand Vitara.
The Suzuki Fronx 2023 has dimensions of 3,995 x 1,765 x 1,550 (mm) and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. It is 5 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 50 mm taller than the Suzuki Baleno, while maintaining the same wheelbase length.
The Fronx is aimed at young, adventurous customers who want to make a statement. The front end of the car showcases design cues from the Grand Vitara, including split headlights, a chrome grille, and an aluminum skid plate. The Fronx has a sportier appearance with prominent mudguards and 17-inch alloy wheels. The car also features full-width LED taillights.
Inside the cabin, the Fronx boasts a two-tone interior with sleek silver trim accents. The centerpiece of the interior is the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Fronx is packed with advanced features including a head-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, Arkamys sound system, rear-seat air vents, 6 airbags, and a range of in-car connectivity options.
The Suzuki Fronx offers two petrol engine choices. The first option is a 1.0L turbocharged engine paired with mild-hybrid technology, delivering a maximum power of 99 horsepower and a peak torque of 148 Nm. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, and it comes with front-wheel drive.
The second engine option is a 1.2L naturally aspirated engine, capable of producing 89 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. It comes with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The Suzuki Fronx 2023 is expected to go on sale in April 2023. Pricing details will be announced at a later date.
