The Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 continues to capture the attention of consumers, despite its launch in the home market in October 2023.
During the Singapore Motor Show 2024, the Korean car manufacturer revealed the updated version of the Kia Carnival 2024. The showcased car was the hybrid variant.
In fact, the global introduction of the Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 dates back to October 2023 in the domestic market. In South Korea, the Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 comes in 4 equipment versions, with prices ranging from 34.7 – 96.5 million won (~645 million – 1.8 billion VND) and 2 interior options, including 7-seater and 9-seater versions.
The design of the Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 is a harmonious fusion of various elements, bearing resemblance to newly introduced models like the EV9 and the Seltos 2023. This can be clearly observed in the new vertical headlights, which are combined with stylized T-shaped LED daytime running lights. The front grille still retains its distinctive tiger face shape, with variations in horizontal or fox eye patterns depending on the version.
The rear of the car stands out with LED taillights featuring a 3D Starmap effect and an extended LED strip that spans the width of the car body and runs down to the rear bumper. Moreover, the design of the rear bumper and tailgate has been modified to create a more balanced appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 comes equipped with a central entertainment screen and a digital instrument cluster of the same size, measuring 12.3 inches, creating a dual-screen cluster. Additionally, the car features a heads-up display (HUD) function.
The redesigned air conditioning control cluster offers a neater and more user-friendly layout. The gearshift area has also undergone a redesign, now featuring a rotary knob. Other notable features include a dashcam, smart key, and digital rearview mirrors. The ergonomic seats are adorned with premium leather and offer heating, cooling, and massage functions. The car’s two-tone interior space exudes elegance and luxury.
In terms of powertrain, the Kia Carnival Hybrid 2024 is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6L petrol engine, paired with an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission. This combination enables the Carnival Hybrid 2024 to deliver a total output of 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 366 Nm.
As per the manufacturer’s announcement, the combined fuel consumption of the new Carnival Hybrid is 14 km/liter (equivalent to approximately 7.14 liters/100 km), applicable to the 9-seater version with 18-inch wheels. The corresponding figure for the 7-seater version with 19-inch wheels is 13.5 km/liter (approximately 7.4 liters/100 km).
In terms of safety equipment, the car features the high-speed Highway Driving Assistance 2 system, which provides automated driving assistance by maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, maintaining preset speeds, and staying within the lane. Compared to its predecessor, the new generation has added lane change support. Additionally, it offers early collision avoidance support, intelligent speed limit assistance, forward/rear/side safe distance warnings during parking, steering wheel vibration for warnings, and 8 airbags for enhanced safety.
